First look at Generations Kup?

Now this is just a bit of a follow up on yesterdays story concerning the in package images of the upcoming Battle in Space two-pack, no idea what I'm talking about? Just click here for the story we'll wait for you while you read it.
Done?
Good we may continue.

Now as you know the set comes with a comic, a comic written by Simon Furman and illustrated by Boo, fan of Transformers Animated will know him for his work on the Arrival. Well if you look at the cover you will see the new Classics Rodimus repaint standing prominently in the foreground of the cover, illustrated here:
Image
Upon further inspection you will notice that the Sweeps and Cyclonus are also on the cover, in their Universe 2008/Generations bodies, illustrated here:

Now after we have noticed those we will see that the largest space of the cover is taken up by Kup, who is not in his original G1 body but a new one, illustrated here:

That is his Generations design, not convinced?

Boo wrote:wasnt told to put Kup on the cover but i knew folks would want the toy when i saw what i was drawing because I WANT THE TOY, so i had to slip him in and it worked, now everyone is hungering like a MarvelZombie for Kup...

but what other secrets lay inside hehehe

You can see his post by clicking here and here for a journal on the comic itself.

But that leaves another question, Unicron is he on the cover because he's in the story and fits the cover or did Boo put him there as a hint at something coming our way, might Hasbro be bringing over the TakaraTomy 2010 remold/repaint of Unicron to it's markets? Only time will tell!

Post your speculation of what might be in the comic by clicking here!

I was wondering about this image when I saw it the other day..

Man I hope a Generations Kup is coming soon as for me he is my most wanted (besides Springer.. Warbot is holding me down for him)..

I can't wait to see pix eventually so I can drool on my keyboard.

So after looking at the picture of the comic cover and noting some locations of headlights and wheels, I believe Kup will be a repaint/resculpt of Generations Jazz. Just my own speculation from looking at the Jazz toy and the Kup illustration...

Sounds good, I can't wait to check out that comic. Well... if the 2-pack even comes to Canada (I'd guess Zellers if it's a Target exclusive in the US)... and if it even includes the comic (Jetfire and Jetstorm didn't come with theirs).

I don't know about Hasbro releasing Unicron. Maybe...maybe not. I don't know if this happened everywhere, but the TRU Universe release cluttered shelves around where I live. They didn't move until they were put on clearance. Same thing with the ROTF Devastator (similar price range, but also a 10 pound piece of trash, so that could explain why they sat).

In all honesty, part of me is hoping that it isn't release in the US because I plunked down the cash for the Tak/Tomy one and will be kicking myself if it shows up in every B&M store around for 50 bucks cheaper. Sorry...I know that I'm being selfish.

As for Kup...I really hope we get a modernized version that is still a Cybertronian truck, just with proper articulation. I could even accept something like a Chevy SSR. Come to think of it, that could look similar to Jazz's front end, as someone else pointed out earlier. Hmmm....

Some Quintessons would be an amazing and unexpected surprise but I think that the ship is related to the whole Wreck-Gar, Hot Rod, Kup, Dinobots et al when they escaped in it.

To go slightly off topic, but (The) Boo is actually a girl :D
Perhaps a few corrections are in order?

A domestic release of 2010 Unicron would also make me drool.

I think that would make a lot of people happy as well. I hope Generations Kup is a brand new mold, not a retool of a previous figure. Show me pictures of Generations Kup and Wheeljack Hasbro, and my wallet is yours..

If they ever release Kup in the modern form, I pray they design him in such a way that a repaint or his remold can be applied to an "Orion Pax" version the way the old G1 was.

Simon Furrman has announced that the comic is set during the 80's movie... thats explains that i had to draw everyone in an animated way... so when you see characters in the comic, remmber i had to take alot of details out to make them look more animated :P

You know what would send Kup totally over the edge in sheer awesomeness? Not that he's not already, but if he came with his Targetmaster partner. That would just rule. Also, earth more or Cybertronian mode, as long as he has the flatbed he's perfect.

Man, this is so awesome. I hope we get to see a good look at kup soon. x3 He was one of my definite favs. The design for the sweeps looks interesting..though I'm used to the original look it may grow on me. I like the design of the drawing as well, this should be interesting. x3
