In the last few days there have been a lot of new images of toys related to the upcoming Transformers Movie. The latest images are interesting to say the least. New images of Cybertron Hardtop and Energon Signal Flare repaints have been posted on TFclub.com. Both have look to have military themed paint jobs, and instead of having the Autobot or Decepticon logo they have the Sector 7 logo. Click here to check out the images.

Well this explains the Arcee figure from yesterday and all the Energon and Cybertron Scout figures being in the wal-mart listing.

Wait, so they fight against the Transformers WITH transformers? WTF?

hahaha I just asked Chosen about those in the Arcee thread as he provided a link for us all, but the link led me to nowheresville. I think those are pretty cool looking. I love the hard top mould and enjoy the signal flair mould. I'll most likely pick those up for Ss&Gs

Oh, man, I wonder if these will be in the movie? Like...transforming and fighting the real transformers. I could picture these being Sector 7's work to combat transformers, but being woefully ineffective because they're so blocky. Haha, that would be such a smart-ass thing for Bay to do, and I'd love it!

I guess so. And what are Ss&Gs, if you don't mind me asking?

what´s Sector 7?

They are either mechs or S7 drones. Or just a reason for hasbro to repaint more figures.

See, now I don't like repains, but when they do them with tie-ins like this, I can't help but nod in approval.

That's almost uncanny how much Hardtop looks like the vehicles we see in the trailer that the soldiers are riding in.

I would suspect the latter. I mean, just look at those horrible Spider-Man 3 versions of Kraven, Lizard, Scorpion, and Rhino they released for the new Spider-Man flick. Totally, completely, and inexcusibely unnecesary.

Have no idea what the problem was, it had to be on your end. My link was identical to the one in the news post. Hotrod's links and mine both lead straight to the thread on TFClub where the original image came from.

I like it.

As much as I love the Cyb Swindle mold (and I do) Im a little disapointed.
They make the tfs look nothing like what we know and love. Fair enough. But then they chuck in a load of cheap repaints of really blocky toys. How the f do they fit in with the rest of the line again?

Love Hartop's mold, and it looks nice from what I can make out of the new colors... Little blurry. The SIgnal flare redeco I'm a bit less sold on, looks too much like it's just Offshoot with a Sector Seven logo on it. I'd like to see them both in robot mode before I pass judgement.

Looks like that list was legit... Which means no Ultras, sigh.

I could pick up the Energon and Cybertron repaints. Better than the movie figures.

No to Signal flare, yes to Hardtop. But the real issue is where do I put them on my shelf? the poor sector 7 mechs will have no friends.

So the government is capable of creating shape-shifting war machines which are capable to thinking for themselves? No wonder the debt is so huge...

:P

Wow. Repaints BEFORE the new line is even out.

Surely Sector 7 need some airborne fighters, maybe one with VTOL? ;;)

Some law about how only humans can be President, or something. Hey, I would have voted for Deep Blue.

Cool! Hardtop looks great in black, always loved that mold.

If they're repainting scouts to fit into the movie line, they better repaint Shortround. He's my all time favourite TF, and he really needs to be repainted. Not to mention he's one of the few TFs that look "bizarre" enough to fit in with the other movie toys, while still being "classic" enough for many fans to like.

Actually, those're based on their appearances in the Spider-Man movie video games.....except for the Lizard. I've no clue wtf he fits in :???:

Possible spoilers for those not interested in the movie storyline:

Maybe these TF's are the results of Sector 7's reverse-engineering from the "Iceman".

Those are neato! I like the idea of Humans having their own troops for this war, too. Definitely going to snag these when I see them.

Maybe they could do him as Seaspray?

Although this makes me wonder, if there are sector 7 toys will there be sector 7 bots in the movie? and if so how many? My fears of a human dominated movie with TFs as plot devices are resurfacing.

I doubt Sector 7 will have any working robots in this movie. They may be developing them, or have some in the sequel, but not yet. I certainly hope that's the case, anyway. This first film is going to need a relatively clear story, and adding a third faction of TF's may muddy the waters too much.

I actually think this is a really cool idea. The only thing that would make it cooler is if they came with little scale figures, and bring back a sort of Diaclone-ish feel.

Of course, I was kind of hoping they'd do something like this, and capture Megatron and Optimus. Before the two broke out, they'd have scanned their designs, and combined them to make the ultimate weapon of Guiltor to fight against them. But that's a dream that'll never happen, but it fits with the conversation, so I'd throw it out there.

Not sure if I'll get any of the figures, but they should do Energon Strongarm. I recently got Cyb. Swindle, think it's great, and both he and Strongarm have a similar vibe. Oh yeah, and they should repaint Energon Skyblast too for some arial support. I could also see a repaint of Kicker/Highwire as kind of a commander.

Hmm, maybe I will get some of these guys :-? . Gears in my head are turning, and it's been so long since they've done another faction.
