Well that didn't work out so well. All I wanted was Nemesis Prime (didn't really matter which version, I'd have taken either), but the coupon knocked it out of free shipping. $6 off, but $4.99 for shipping doesn't help much. Maybe I can find something for $1.01 to make it work... :-?

It's kinda misleading to say that these are kits you paint yourself... I mean you CAN if you want but if that was really necessary why release all 3 seekers and color variants of Optimus? They're a lot more approachable than a model tank or plane, all the plastic is colored and there's color-correcting stickers for those who don't want to paint for any reason.

Greetings all. Powered Convoy is back with more Flame Toys news! This time the user has let us know that Flame Toys has announced a reissue of Tarn via their official Facebook page! This is exciting news as Tarn has been a very sought after piece that has long been sold out. Tarn was part of Flame Toys Kuro Kara Kuri line and was the second figure released in the series. This is just a teaser image however, as Flame Toys has yet to announce any other details about the reissue regrading price and availability. The previous release of Tarn was back in 2018 and commanded a price of $399.99 US which is enough to make anyone's wallet burst in flames!

Tarn hails from the IDW comics as part of the DJD (Decepticon Justice Division) and was a rather brutal character that wore a Decepticon insignia on his face. He and the rest of the DJD struck fear into anyone they pursued. We are still waiting for Tarn and the rest of the DJD to be introduced into the Generations line at some point. Make it happen Hasbro!

Not only that, but they are also snap-on kits. No glue needed. What super convenient. Still, a sharp knife is needed to remove the sprue marks. Other than that, it's pretty low-level kit building... meaning FUN to do!

I still have to buy one of those TF kits but so far, I did some High-Grade Gundam and there's High-Grade Grendizer Infinitism coming for me. My next one may be the Bumblebee because for me, it will be having a MP Action Masters Bee.

Nice figure but I couldn't justify 400 for a non-transforming figure before and after paying that for MP-44 and he is transformable and super-poseable, I still can't justify it (even if it were made off 100% stainless steel).

Greetings all. Flame Toys is on fire! Powered Convoy is back yet again with even more news to share! Flame Toys has made another announcement via their official Facebook page that IDW Megatron is coming! This version looks identical to their Furai 06 IDW Megatron (Autobot version) model kit with the exception that this is the Decepticon version with the obvious insignia swap and what looks to be a new face as well. Megatron is listed at number 14 in the Furai series with a release date of May, 2020 for $50 U.S. This may be disappointing for those that already own the Autobot version since there is little incentive to double dip on this figure. Where is the Furai stealth bomber Megatron?

It's really not, the Autobot Megatron was the proper version of this, the one everyone wanted from this design.

Rodimus looks great, spot on for the IDW model. Primal looks good too, very Brave-looking.

But holy mama that Windblade! Quite aside from the, uh, obvious, that is some sublime looking engineering on the torso articulation. I imagine she'll be a joy to pose.

Thanks to a heads up from Seibertronian AcademyofDrX, we have news that the next 3 Flame Toys Furai model kits have been revealed, and they are none other than IDW Rodimus, Optimus Primal, and Windblade!

Up first we have Rodimus, who is a near perfect replication of his form assumed in the pages of More Than Meets The Eye and Lost Light, from IDW Publishing. Rodimus held this form for 6 years, and it has become a well known body for him, although this is the first official toy we have gotten of this design. This also means that soon, you can have the Lost Light Co-Captains together again soon!

Secondly, we have Optimus Primal, who is in an all new form based on his original Beast Wars body. Primal's new body is a pretty bulky body, complete with large arm cannons, large back cannons, some jump jets, and what appears to be individually articulated fingers, which are quite large. He also has some pretty neat stylized fur.

Finally, we have Windblade, who is also a brand new design. This new design acts more like a skin suit, with very little in the way of Transformers-like bits.

All 3 designs will roughly come to a height of 6 inches, and will all be somewhere around the $40-$50 range.

I absolutely love that Primal and Rodimus!

Rodimus, I am so excited to have the IDW design official at last, and He, Megs, Drift, and my CW Magnus will all look fantastic together as the command crew.

And that Primal design is Boss! I love it! I cannot wait to see the Lio Convoy and Big Convoy they make in this style too!

Gotta love that sexy Windblade but for one thing. Where are her wings? Because as she is there, she'd be right at home in the Battle Angel Alita universe rather than Transformers.
Same thing for the guys too. They all look like kick-ass cyborgs, not Transformers.

I don't mind that they shrunk them, but I don't like that they removed her trademark T wingtips.

Can't say I'm surprised they chose to do an IDW Rodimus. Popularity aside, they can get away with two decos this way.

I just mean Arcee is the one with the track record for getting canceled. But what model are you talking about, they haven't announced an Arcee yet? They definitely aren't doing a transforming one, Takara Tomy and Hasbro would never allow that.

Optimus primal looks way too generic and not in a good way, could hardly tell it was an optimus let alone meant to be gorilla based. Missed all the tick boxes on this one.

Rodimus looks great apart from his head which is idw anyhoos, so a head swap with virtually anything and it will be cool.

Windblade looks great, hopefully some extra face plates/expressions

Ugh, that Windblade is awful. It's always disappointing when Female characters get reduced down to nothing but wank material, and especially when it's one as well written and popular as Windblade. I honestly can't believe this is an officially liscened figure.

I forgot Flame Toys was doing this to Windblade, but I'm still disappointed. It's like they don't know how to design a female robot other than "put a Windblade morphsuit on a naked human woman's body". And before anyone tries to defend that to me by citing how the male ones look: as stylized as the other model kits get, they don't exactly look like "ideal male form hyper-muscly body" with a thin coat of Transformers paint, do they? They just look like Transformers with slightly more human proportions than normal.

My only complain with her is that they basically removed all the kibbles that make her a Transformers. They should have followed the manga above a bit more closely.

That Optimus was basically a sexy muscle-man wearing a wetsuit. There's absolutely nothing in this design suggesting that it can transform into anything. Just a cool cyborg, not even a robot.

It reeeeally doesn't tho. Sure, it certainly doesn't look it transforms into anything, but it looks more like a suit of armor than a buff human man. Sure, it kinda vaguely has pecs and biceps, but nowhere near the absurd replication of specific shaping of human anatomy that Windblade exhibits.

But Windblade was already drawn with curves in most iterations, she's rarely drawn with squared off parts, especially her thighs, arms, and mid section. In fact I'd say she looked even more human there than this model which exaggerates far more details than the "sexy ones".

I mean, yeah, Windblade's always been curvier than say Optimus, but like, c'mon, this model kit is a whole other level. It's pretty much literally a naked human woman with panel lines and fan-wings.

My only complain with her is that they basically removed all the kibbles that make her a Transformers. They should have followed the manga above a bit more closely.

Agreed. If we remove the backpack (what little of it there is) and the head crest/fan she's nothing more than the basic trope of a sci-fi fembot.

The tweets and images of Windblade have been deleted from Flame Toys' account. I wouldn't immediately conclude it has been cancelled, but it could indicate that the controversy may produce a change in design. That's speculation, as I have not seen any comment on it from Flame Toys.

Speaking personally, I very much want a Furai Windblade to go with the rest of my collection of IDW designs. But I hated this design, and I think it does a disservice to the character and the brand. Honestly, though, who cares what I think? I'm just a fan; yes, I have an emotional investment in Windblade, but she's just a fiction.

She is much more important to others, and I can't think of any authority greater than Mairghread Scott, who wrote the IDE miniseries and Til All Are One. Linking to the Flame Toys tweet, she said this on Twitter:
"When you spend years trying to build a positive, complex role model of a character trying to find peace in a world of endless war... and this happens..." and appended a sad Ben Affleck gif.
