An article about recent developments surrounding the Transformers movie has appeared on the site of CHUD - Cinematic Happenings Under Development. The screenwriter appearently contacted the site and had the following to say, as quoted from the article

"Mr. Spielberg is producing and heavily involved in the film's development. It'll be true to the source material with a nice, light touch, a cast of human characters partnered with the Transformers, and big robot action. I mean, c'mon, they're paying me to write giant robot battles. I'm no otaku, but that's a good day in any geek writer's life. Anyone worried that we won't honor the source material can rest easy."

The news recently that John Roger would write the screen play for the movie, was not well received by the majority of the Transformers Fan-community, based on poor results in the eyes of these fans of movies like Catwoman and The Core.
