If you thought Takara Tomy's short lived Premium Finish line was dead then think again. Thanks to a post on our own Energon Pub forums by Seibertronian o.supreme we've learned of a tweet from the official Takara Tomy Transformers Twitter account teasing a Beast Wars reveal on March 9.

While that doesn't imply much, around the same time an image was being circulated very similar to other ones used internally by Takara Tomy, most recently seen with Legacy Evolution Commander class Armada Optimus Prime. The image appears to show Kingdom Optimus Primal and Megatron in colors very similar to those used on the Masterpiece versions of the characters based on the CGI cartoon. The image also says reproduction is prohibited until March 9 linking them back to the original tweet. Text across the top of the image also refers to a versus set so we may be looking at a two pack.

Interesting.
I don't think I'll buy them, but if they TRULY look good, I may consider it.

So far, the only PF I bought was Movie Ratchet because ironically, it was the cheapest way to get him. All the other weren't "premium" enough for me.

Wait, so first we had the origanal kingdom primal who was already pretty good.
Then he got upgraded to Netflix primal, which was slightly better.
And now we get a third redeco which will be marginally better then netflix primal?

Doubtless Takara has done its homework to see if this PF release would be profitable, and found an affirming answer.

Sometimes i don't understand this fandom.

The fandom had nothing to do with it, I don't think anyone was asking for this, at least not this Primal, but if it's out there people will certainly buy it if they think it's worth getting. Compared to the Netflix version Primal probably wont change that much, I think they might add some gray fleck to his fur to look more like the cartoon, but Megatron is straight up based on the original cartoon with a more uniform dark purple, blue upper arms and crotch and green thighs. Pretty sure he's using the teeth baring face finally.

Without the packaging, I couldn't tell the difference right now between standard Kingdom Primal and the Netflix one. Heck, someone could pull a figure swap in that scenario and I wouldn't know the difference. In fact I just got a loose Primal a few weeks back. It came with Kingdom packaging, but I couldn't honestly tell you which version it is, and it really doesn't matter at this point. t least the premium finish versions with be distinct enough to stand out years from now.
