The manufacturers of the KO G1 Metroplex have chosen to use a "Free Glow in the Dark Poster" version of G1 Metroplex's box, so it may make it easier to spot which versions of G1 Metroplex are real and which ones are Knock Off's.

Well, we knew it was coming. Another surprisingly convincing box.
Remind me how they get away with this?

Funny that the last "Latest News Thread" is a "KNOCK OFF ALERT" in big red letters.
Now all I'm saying about this is one, don't call it Metroplex, Transformer, or Autobot(also omit Scamper, Slammer, and SixGun), and 2 get that AutoBot logo the hell off him!
Then, piss away your money as you see fit.

I'm sorry to say this, but that box, KO or not, is getting to me. I really have to buy it, my real G1 Metroplex is in dire need of box since he keeps falling of the shelf. Besides, I'll have a job soon, so I'll be able to piss away my money w/o any regrets.

Feel free to give me money then.
Honestly, it's the better situation really.
Pay money for an over-priced knock-off, knowing that your money is going to a bunch of rip-off merchants who are pissing all over the Transformers trademarks ... OR ... give your money to Burn, a fellow collector, knowing all too well he's going to use it either buy more TF's for himself, or go visit a strip club.
Seriously, i'm the better option because at least you're talking to the guy you're going to make happy.

Wait, shouldn't this have the Knock Off Alert News Story avatar?

Are my optic receptors malfunctioning or does that box actually includes the mini-poster offer from TF:TM? Now that is a memorable KO!

I'm so tempted to get this. Here's the dilema. Buy the k.o. before a review and it turns out to be just that a cheap k.o. or wait for a review and it's a good product and the price really goes through the roof.

Ugh.
I've been buying and saving my Transformers MIB/MOC since 1986. Metroplex was one of my first that I didn't open. I bought a spare loose one from ebay about a decade ago, so I could get my 'Plex fix.
All of these KO's, especially the high quality ones that are brazenly G1 packaged and include decals, posters, etc, are really starting to perturb me. I know that a lot of you didn't start collecting during G1 or even as early as G2 or the Beast Wars. I know that picking up vintage items is difficult and expensive. Seriously though, why settle for even a HQ KO when you know you're just giving your money to -to quote Burn- a bunch of rip-off merchants who are pissing all over the Transformers trademarks.
I can't believe how many people are looking forward to a Knock Off.

Same. That's why it's nice to find another collector who values legitimate pieces in their collections over convenient ko's.

QFT! Its become commonplace enough that people are accepting it.
This KO isnt Metroplex, I dont care how authentic it looks. Its a counterfeit, no better than fake designer handbags or a bogus rolex watch.
Buy it if you must, but never forget whos pockets you are lining. These bootleggers hurt the collector's community, they do not help it.

Transformers is such a hot item in China over japan believe it or not. Don't be surprised that an enterprising individual will try to cash in with the craze.

I would have been tempted to get this had it been priced as a KO. However, pricing it at the same level as an original Metroplex is just wrong in my opinion. I'd rather take the money I would have to spend on this KO and get an original off Ebay. I've seen several complete Metroplex in good condition going for the same price or less.
This is just wrong as far as I'm concerned.
