Very cool. Can't wait for pics to start showing up. Although I'm not sure how well the color scheme will work on the Rodimus mold.

Dunno how that deco will work on E-Rodimus, but G1-Thunderclash looks like he aughta be leader of the Elite Guard.

Hmph. This set is a joke. Not one figure that is valuable, at least last years set had some interesting concepts.

Found a digi-coloured version on the internet. Looks fairly good.

That's your opinion of course. Value is determined by the supply of figures and the demand for the figure. Supply has of course been set to "rather limited" and demand has yet to be solidly measured, (and no, a bunch of people crying on the Internet does not equal known demand). Ebay will be the final indicator of whether a figure is valuable or not.

I have all the molds released so far, and IMO each one is awesome; Kup is the weakest one but even he has his charms. I'm not regretting a single mold used so far.

Hmm, interesting.

The color scheme is not quite Thunderclash. Needs more aqua blue, and the legs need to be red.

The head on the other hand does evoke Thunderclash.

However the overall feel of the paint scheme IMHO is of IDW's Nova Prime.

In fact if not for the blue head, with pink eyes and crest I'd say this is a fairly good attempt at Nova Prime.

I second this opinion. The only figure that holds my interest is Scourge, the rest are so blah and Energon Rodimus? Energon? In a predominantly Cybertron set? Not to mention the figure I own I probably like the very least and have no cares as to what happens to it.

Well, hopefully the set retains some value so I can make my money back on ebay.

Technically, what we've seen so far is predominately Energon:
Leozack & SkyQuake - Energon Starscream
Landshark - Energon Landquake
Thunderclash (if true) - Energon Rodimus
Flak - Cybertron CD Scattorshot
Scourge - Cybertron Sideways
Kup - Cybertron Red Alert.

So far that 4 Energon, 3 Cybertron. Of course if you want to split hairs then the actual box set will be 3 Cybertron, 2 Energon but I call that a majority, but far from predominately Cybertron.

Bravo Mkall. You were right on the prediction of Energon Rodimus being used. I'm actually surprised by how well the paint scheme works on the figure.

Since we have Thunderclash and Skyquake, I wonder if we'll see Stalker? I know CBD Red Alert has already been used for 2006, but the mold would be perfect for Stalker if he's in the souvenir set.

Why do people say this line is mostly Cybertron? I count more Energony goodness here than Cybertron.

If that's an example of how BotCon Thunderclash might end up looking, then I'm right about G1-Tunderclash looking like he aughta be leader of the Elite Guard. Whoever did this should be happy with their work, because this is pretty solid.

Leo and Sky = same figure same mold still one figure used of Energon. The best Energon mold they used in this set IMHO.

Landshark- Oh God don't get me started on monkey arms. Just as bad as Cybertron Crumplezone.

Thunderclash - Well after seeing the digital repaint, it has potential, but I don't like the mold at all, seems to big on the lower end and the body is too flimsy for me.

Flak = I like.

Scourge= My fav of the bunch, color and head really work for this figure.

Kup- Meh to the mold but the color and the head really make me want this bad boy.

So yeah, there are other Energon figs but the use of the same mold for two characters really kills it and the other two are very blah.

I was never a fan of the Energon figures to begin with though so yeah.

My man,

I think you need to take a second look at that figure to properly understand what's going on with his armor attachments.

Never been a fan of the E Rodimus mold. His legs are just way out of proportion. I'm still on the fence about this set, it just isn't living up to my expectations. It isn't bad, persay, but it isn't awesome either.

not bad...but I think they could have used the smaller Energon Optimus Prime from the TRU exclusive two-pack instead of E-Rodimus.

I mean wasn't the Machine Wars Optimus Prime just a recolor of the U.K.'s Thunderclash? That would have been a nicer touch to me, and a reason for me to buy the whole set.

And I happen to like monkey arms on Dark Crumplezone.

I'm actually surprised they didn't use the deluxe version of the E-Prime mold. You'd think the mold would fit better with Thunderclash overall, but FP's tendency to do the unexpected holds true with the Rodimus mold.

This does make me curious about the souvenir sets. I'm wondering if one of the souvenir figures is going to be able to combine with Thunderclash. I'm predicting that we might be seeing the E-Inferno mold as a souvenir.

Also, Energon Landmine is all kinds of awesome and the Roadbuster look only makes the mold that much sweeter. Who cares if it's another Roadbuster paint job. It looks awesome. It's like painting a figure black. Paint a construction/artillery based figure into Roadbuster colors and it will look awesome.

I'm very happy that I'm getting this set for my first Botcon. 8)

I couldn't agree more. I will say out these seven, I actually do kinda like Scourge. The rest of them are a joke though.

Will all seven of these figures be the box set? Any thing on souvenir sets and attendee exclusive out of curiosity?

Thunderclash's legs aren't really blue.. I think this is a better ex.
