Via Japanese fan site Chohenken, we have some new images of the Takara Tomy Transformers Golden Lagoon redeco of Masterpiece figure MP-10 Optimus Prime / Convoy which sees to be the last release of this mold before the arrival of the third version of the same character in the same line.

There are a lot of images here, enough to show you exactly which parts are chrome or painted. We do see that the paint can easily be chipped, which a red circle highlights. This is a Takaratomymall exclusive but it is also being distributed through Hasbro Asia, who local retailers are importing from. He is being sold for around $180 by domestic retailers. I thought ut looked ok before, but he looks great now. Athough if I were to change ONE thing from this, besides getting a gold trailer too, I'd make the matrix gold chrome instead of gold plastic. That said, I don't have the money nor the justification to cough up 180$ for a trailer-less Prime.

While I don't have this MP-10 yet, I'm sure the Matrix is diecast painted gold. Every MP-10 Matrix thus far has been diecast, not plastic.

So I'm glad I jumped on Starscream quickly, pre-orders are already sold out at BBTS. I was originally going to order from RK, but something got wonky with their shipping, originally it was going to be only about $10 to ship, then at the final stage it somehow changed to $27 (and that was the least expensive method!)...No thank you. I know some places have it still...I think Chosen Prime still does, but the price is all about the same- $45 give or take. Not bad, especially in comparison with past TFCC exclusives.

I just want one more use of the CW Starscream before they shelf it forever. With UW Ghost Starscream, TFCC SG Starscream, PotP Voyager, and now this Golden Lagoon version, we're one figure off from being able to create all Starscream combiners.

I went with TFSource for Starscream since I never got any notice about BBTS putting up their preorder for it until well after said preorder had sold out.

Yeah, now that you mention it there were NO pre-order notifications for the Golden Lagon figures besides Prime.

Did I miss the boat in preorders for the Autobots team? What’s the price point on that? I don’t care to own Perceptor, but I’d love to have Beachcomber and Seaspray.

My TFSource preorder for GL Starscream has processed. Gonna wait to ship it later after I save up a bit so as to take advantage of the free shipping on orders over $150. Got my eyes on a few other things that I can group together in my Stack with Screamer.

My BBTS GLSS order was processed yesterday, hasn't shipped yet. It's the only item I had on pre-order, so hopefully it will ship soon. My PotP collection will be complete! (I know Golden Lagoon SS isn't technically PotP, but I count it as such...) Ironically, thanks to the lack of exclusives, I'm able to finish my want list for this line before CW or TR. My chances of completing TR are still feasible, as everything I want is still in stock and available on online, but CW will probably be next to impossible to complete. Curse you Hasbro, and your Modulus! :BANG_HEAD:

I saw GL Screamer come in stock and I am tempted by him. But I already have a nice divisible-by-4 number of combiner limbs, so i really don't need him. But he is really nice looking.

My Starscream should be here this weekend, maybe Monday at the latest. My grand total getting it directly from Takara Tomy Mall came to $56 which isn't terrible, but I underestimated how cheap the domestic price would be.

If Takara Tomy wanted to put out a "Golden Lagoon" edition of Soundwave at this size, why not use the far superior Masterpiece mold? It worked out well for Optimus Prime. Then again, it's weird they relegated poor "Golden Lagoon" Starscream to an undersized Deluxe mold that's not even very screen accurate anyway.

I have no idea why they didn't just go with MP Soundwave, but the gold really makes this mold look great. The fact that it's not haphazardly applied makes him look even better. I'm sure that some people would have liked to have seen the Bumblebee Soundwave get this treatment instead though

The TR mold gives us a solid gold disco nightclub for our Titan Masters, Prime Masters, Micromasters, BotBots, etc. to boogie down and shake their groove thing!

I wonder how close that is to the final version. The gold plastic looks waaay better than any of the other figures, but I'm prepared to be disappointed by dull gold plastic once again.
