Director to the Transformers Movie to premiere on July 4th 2007, has commented on his Shoot For The Edit board about the the fact that the teaser trailer to the movie was the most downloaded trailer ever. The following has been taken directly from the director's post.

"I had no idea Transformers would have so many fans around the world. Yahoo reported to Paramount, that the Transformers Trailer was the most downloaded trailer ever on Yahoo. It had the most the first day, and the most the first week. It beat Spider Man 3 that up till now held the record, we beat them by over 2,000,000 streams. What we found interesting was that an equal number of women viewed it as men. Go figure. Vote to keep Die Hard July 4th!!!!".
