It's Evil Optimus Season. We knew of a reissue of Takara Tomy Transformers Masterpiece MP-10 Black Convoy from this news post, and we now also have some more specific details courtesy of TAG Hobby! According to their listing, the figure will be out this December and priced at 12.800 Yen (approx 113 USD at the time of writing), featuring the same accessories as the previous release - including the lack of trailer. Masterpiece MP-10B Black convoy

In the masterpiece series which is the highest peak brand of Transformers, it is decided to resell "black convoy" which was extremely popular in the past! It is based on the popular "MP-10 Convoy" specification with black convoy coloring. A laser gun that can be folded and stored on the back of the main unit, and a matrix that stores it in the chest are also included.

Honestly... I'm trying to decide if I need this.... and other reissues. Let me explain.....

The most recent MP's, have this logo stamped on them:

I don't know what it is, but it's there. And it's also on the most recent reissues. Starscream, Soundwave, and the two Cassette sets. If I were a betting man, I'd say this'll have it too. I have already committed myself to buying everything MP, including box variants... but this is so arbitrary and minuscule...... the struggle....

I love this figure. Picked it up in a kapow sale years ago and was my first mp10 experience. He looks so badasd dual wielding the Megatron guns from mp1 and sou dwave. Hmmm. Odd there's no mention of his axe in this one

Pretty excited about this one, honestly. I missed the first release of him back in 2013, and now I have a chance at picking him up again without paying the silly prices on eBay.

Screwed up how? There's many ways to do a Black Convoy. And if you really want to get technical, the first (proper) Black Convoy had this instead of Decepticon insignias. But you gotta let some things go. So long as they're not releasing a Black Convoy in bright orange, you'll live.

Damn this is so tempting. I paid $159 for the Hasbro Asia reissue of MP-10, so this price almost seems like a steal. Plus I've been flirting recently with the idea of getting some version of Nemesis Prime. I don't really need this, but it's hard to pass up....
