There is no director for Transformers.
So no one is OUT of the running.
REAL STEEL is based on the Richard Matheson story STEEL. It is a development deal. Maybe it will be a movie someday.
Mostow knows about Transformers. He is NOT the director. And he's NOT not the director.
Zemeckis toyed with the idea but DID pass.
We are pursuing some big guns as we speak.
