Taghobby has posted some new info concerning MP-24 Star Saber. That's right, Star Saber gets his own MP numbered designation. Star Saber will retail for 18,000 yen to be released in March.

He somehow looks cooler in the grey prototype form. It's those typical anime robot Playskool-esque colors again. 
Another cool thing, this seems to confirm he can hold the sword with the blade facing the right direction.

Still a nice looking MP figure. I'm still sure that Takara will make a MP Victory Leo, so that way we could have an MP Victory Saber. Nicely done, Takara.

Finally, an estimated release date and price!
It's great to see him in all his colored glory, especially Saber. I was getting tired of seeing nothing but gray. I know what I'm saving up for after November's MP-10 reissue!

I like it, but with no attachment to the character I'll have trouble spending that much for him. But it is a cool robot design and figure, so I may.

But, if the handle is long enough for two hands, it may be possible for him to hold it nearer the bottom, though that may look weird with the guard so far above the top of the fist. This should make it clear enough that he's perfectly capable of gripping his sword right. I think he's the only MP so far since Mp-01 to have such shoulder articulation!

alright, bought my dvd set for transformers victory on amanzon. I honestly stop watching transformers after headmansters, is amazing on the begining with all those combiners and g1 characters, but after rodimus depart becomes tasteless.

Wish MP Ultra Magnus could pose like that. Star Saber may be the first MP figure that I don't buy (not including some repainted MP figures). I don't know enough about the character to be wowed into buying him.

It definitely helps to know the character but the design of this guy alone with all the little extra gimmicks of the Brainmaster being remastered is more than enough for me to purchase MP Star Saber. That and I don't know many Masterpieces that preferably uses melee weapons and combat.

The robot mode is very impressive. But there are other things that don't impress me as much. Because I don't know the character he reminds me more of a Soul of Chogokin character from the 70's (paint app wise and alt mode wise).

Well I can definitely say that that look is something I dig but had to grow into. Oh well. This does however open the possibilities of what the Masterpiece line can do in the future and as well as being a Masterpiece I would love to have, this piece represents the beginnings of the Brave Series and how the franchise will be telling its stories as well as how their toy lines are made as well as being a Masterpiece that may even give Transformers who never got a fair shake due to engineering limitations at the time such as Fatimus Prime.

It's possible that the hand will have a hinge at the wrist to bend forward to allow proper holding with one hand.

Yea, the price is surprisingly attractive for its huge size and gimmicks. Wish the US retailers would push down the price of the cars, too, but oh well. I think I'm going to test out HLJ for these 2 MPs (once preorders go up) & Takara Jetfire. Haven't used them before, but the price is right and I've only heard good things.

If there's only one thing that would make this MP even more better than he already is, it's that he comes in the usual sexy black MP box and printed on it is the MP doing the exact same pose as the G1 boxart.

It's ok, I'll get yours.
I have little attachment to the animated series character, but I do like the concept, and IDW's MTMTE has given a spin different enough to the character that it can easily face off with Optimus and G2 Lambor on my shelf. And EVA-01.

Thanks for that. I've been checking the big three exporters (AmiAmi, HLJ, and Hobby Search) every day for over a week, but HLJ snuck it up there after I had already checked this morning. Got him and Exhaust, but I still want to see if AmiAmi goes even lower.
