It's worth mentioning that the Huffer here is the two-toned variant: later releases has the hood match the rest of the vehicle.

Where do all these PCC repaints in the galleries come from ??? A decepticon Huffer and an autobot Smolder ??? I thought these molds were brand new designed by Hasbro for 2010 ???

Wave 3 was all repaints of Wave 1, with drones and Mini-Cons mixed up. It's to extend the line before the 2011 releases, like the Dinobots and Constructicons.

I love how deceptively heroic Smolder looks, especially with the Combiner head. Sort of has a mock-(Animated)-Optimus thing going.

The minicons have very... loose transformations. I'm used to 'robo-yoga' with movie-verse the Fallen and Megatron, but some of these guys (Backwind especially) just don't seem to even try.

And that completes galleries for all 24 of the currently available PCC figures. I think this is the most pictures I've ever posted in one week. Lots of work! Took me one week to take all of their photos and an additional week to sort through the blurry pics, duplicates, crop the pics, resize the photos, adjust the colors, watermark the pics, and upload them to the site. Thank goodness for all of the batch operations I've figured out over the 7 years I've been doing this.

And they came out mighty fine.

Why is Beacon solid red plastic I though he's supposed to be translucent sparkly brown?

This made me realise that the only good Mini-Con mold from this line is Caliburst, the rest are shite. Well at least wave 1.

But the silver lining to that is several play possibilities when he's in chest-plate mode, which the photographer, overworked as he was to get all of this up, kudos, didn't explore. Extend his limbs a bit, and he's a self-targeting machine gun battery. Spin him 180 degrees, and his legs become a very convincing set of binoculars! Ironically, it is my least favorite 2-pack from wave 1, but if I'd had these as a kid, I'd say Searchlight and Backwind would've been the most fun to play with. His handgun mode is quite random, but an 8-year old would think it should look silly, assuming he's a gas gun.

And a minicon axe is something long overdue. I'd actually call Caliburst the worst minicon because he's the least versatile. The gear aesthetic just looks wrong when he's Huffer's robot-mode weapon.

BTW Seibertron: You picked up the Huffer version with the miscolored hood. There is a corrected version out now with a yellow hood.

Glad to see all the PCCs finally in the galleries. I recommend Smolder and Chopster to those of you on the fence with these guys. I may go get Huffer soon, since my area has no new products in. Can't wait to see what else Hasbro has in store with the PCCs.

Great work Seibs! All up to date on PCCs, cool. 8)

Backwind is the lamest of all the PCC Minicons, IMO. I don't even display him. It would help if he was a different color that integrated better with Searchlight, I think. I love Caliburst, and the rest look pretty decent.

It has been a really long time since we dusted off this part of the boards, too, as the last Transformers Power Core Combiners galleries were posted all the way back in 2010! As Seibertron.com's gallery machine is churning out its catch-up material, though, let us travel down the predecessors to the current Combiner Wars technology with four new galleries of the later wave of the little Scout-sized and Minicon two-packs, including some of the most sought after molds in the line.

Click on any image below to take a look at full galleries for Decepticon boatformer Undertow with Waterlog, Jhiaxus-looking Skyhammer with Airlift Minicon, blue Mudslinger repaint Salvage and its partner Bomb-Burst, and the extremely rare and popular tank that could Heavytread, complete with Groundspike. Each figure is shown in its three modes: vehicle, robot and combiner torso (core) with the automorphing limbs found in five-packs - check them all out below!

Most underrated series of all time. I wish they had made a train and insect team.

I regret skipping that one too.

I really dig many of the PCC toys. Undertow and Heavytread are at the top of my want list, but finding them at a reasonable price is another story all together.
Anyway, this was a really underrated toy line, and I would love to see some of the designs and characters brought back into the fold!

I really did like the PCC line. The drones were kinda weak, but the Core figures were pretty well designed, especially as the line went on.

And the Minicons (Really, these guys were Targetmasters mixed with Breastforce mechanics, not minicons. Minicons typically have their own alternate mode that doesn't require outside use) were really well designed, especially given their size.

I kinda feel like if the PCC drones hadn't had such a focus on "auto-transforming", there could have been some clever engineering done to make them look awesome.

heavytread was the hardest to track down for me.

I wanted Undertow too but missed him. He would've been my Classics Octopunch (though the SG Octopunch now fills that role)

Heavytread is my Classics Guzzle
Skyhammer is my Classics Triggerhappy

Ah, PCCs. Such a fun line. Really '09-'10 had to be my favorite period in Transformers.

I've always wondered what Undertow and Skyhammer were like. The other end-of-the-line figures (Steamhammer, Dinopope, and Heavytread) are all pretty amazing.

At the very least, Smolder should be adopted into the "main" series.

Also, wow, just noticed the original thread title used the Minicon's name instead.

Awesome. These guys don't hold a candle to Combiner Wars, but as individual figures, I love them.

Heavytread was pretty hard to find.. but looks amazing with Fansproject Mobine (Jungle).

Undertow is a pretty nice one. I managed to make a pretty cool looking Chaingun turret alt mode out of it.
