New Images of Revenge of the Fallen Deluxe Swerve

I'm really liking the head sculpt and repaint. I'll be picking it up as soon as I see one in the local stores.

I'm probably gonna get the repaints my brother doesn't want, so definately a "get" for me.

I wish that when they did redecos they would at least include a new weapon or make it enough of a redesign that it would warrant a purchase. For me a new head sculpt and being red doesn't warrant a purchase. If he where red had the new head and maybe a new chest piece and some kind of weapon added on I would buy him.. but I am not getting him or Dead end for that reason. Now if I had money to throw away then it would be another story.

They could repaint that figure puke green and it would still look amazing

I got Sideswipe, but i decided that the mold was utter awesomeness. Therefore it justified buying the repaint.

It just doesn't translate as well as I had thought he might.

I was worried that the red might come off looking worse as more photos came out, but I was thankfully wrong. I really like the Sideswipe mold, so I will very likely purchase this guy on sight. It doesn't hurt that he is a Corvette either, sexiest family of cars to ever hit the planet Earth.

I've never really liked the head mold too much, but what really bugs me is the yellow tail-lights. I realize it's for the sake of contrast, but a different shade of red would've looked way better and more realistic.

Still, I will probably pick this up because I want a "Sideswipe" I can display with my other Sideswipes.

The more I look at the pics, the more I'm liking Swerve. One big bonus for me is that the paint apps in robot mode are more varied than in Sideswipe, which my little brother has.

RotF Deluxe Sideswipe's arms and torso are the base plastic colours. Its legs are the same except for a section of the upper thighs. From what I can make out, Swerve has painted upper arms, forearm sections, torso, the mech alive knee plate sliders, and upper thigh plates. The black on the legs and arms are base plastic but it has a dull sheen that reins in the shiny red paint of the car parts. My one criticism is that the forelegs are in a base plastic dull grey, which throws the otherwise cohesive visual texture of the robot mode. However, it's a relatively minor issue compared to the other things that RotF seems to do right in terms of paint apps. Once I get one, I'll just paint the forelegs to a silver to match the knee plates.
