New Images of Takara Legends LG 43 Dinosaurer aka Trypticon in Figure King No. 230

Hot off the presses, the collectables magazine Figure King No. 230 has a whole five page section on Takara's Legends LG 43 Dinosaurer aka Trypticon. It is still very unclear just what the difference between the Hasbro and Takara version are. So far both have used the same official images and Takara has used Hasbro's product for some of their promotion. Also, Hasbro's reveal of Trypticon at NY Toy Far was using a painted model, which is also not inidicative of how it will look like finished. So while we could assume that what we see in these magazine images is the final deco of the Takara release, it still does not leave us much to go on in terms of what the differences are. Let us know if you find any obvious differences that aren't just dependent on the lighting. We have added images of the Hasbro Trypticon shown at the Australia toy fair below as well for you to make a comparison if needed.

The article does show us a lot of functionality that was not shown yet, such as how Full Tilt has a cockpit for a titan master to ride in, and how the front of the ship mode opens like a giant mouth. We also see him scaled with Metroplex with no angle tricks and he does look much smaller. Plus, and this one is awesome, we see the earliest model of Trypticon done by expert designer Hasui who had used parts of Fort Max to show how they could pull off a Trypticon. This by no means makes Trypticon any sort of retool, it just shows how the mind of a designer works, using whatever they have at their disposal to get their vision across.

The extra weapon in the listing seems to be Full Tilt's gun and there is no catapult shown in the images meaning that it might just be a gimmick part of the toy and not an accessory on its own.

Enjoy these images and tell us that you think!

So, assuming Australia Toy Fair and these promotional images' Trypticons are separately Hasbro and T.Tomy's, the only real difference is the purple used, which might just be a lighting difference. The difference between these images and the Trypticon we saw at NY Toy Fair was primarily the torso plastic, with the Hasbro having the translucent blue and Takara's being greener.

This look awesome. I do wish Fort Max had gotten this kind of treatment, instead of being a battle modified Metroplex.

In the picture where Full-Tilt's Head Master is shown sitting inside him, you can see that he isn't actually painted. That leas me to believe that they're still showing off the Hasbro version for whatever reason :-? cause I don't see why they wouldn't paint the Head Master if they have painted all the previous ones

The shade of purple they used for full tilt and some of Tryp's pieces looks like a dead on match to the G1 shade.

Honestly I'm glad Takara didn't give me a reason to import this beast. Money SAVED!

Not an easy thing to compare when one is the actual toy and the other is a digital render.

They really could be the exact same toy. Its happening a lot this year with TLK.

Yeah, comparing the magazine images to the display images from Australia, which appear to be in final molded plastic, the colors are pretty much identical in every way. So either the magazine images are of Hasbro's figure or they really are going to be identical. I'll hold onto my Japanese pre-order for a little while longer.

Anybody else find it interesting that they are showing Tripty off with Takara's upcoming Baldigus minus Rollbar / Grejeber, Stunticons but no Motormaster, and Soundwave.

Seems like a very strange mix of figures there.

It's likely replicating how in G1 Metroplex and Trypticon were consistently advertised with the Scramble City toys due to their interaction with them.

Though of all figures, Drag Strip? Really? Probably the worst-coloured toy of all Unite Warriors? Alright then.
