Heh. It appears that the entire bot form is contained within the trailer. The cab may not be needed at all. Maybe that solves the butt-flap issue for some people?
[Edit] Well, maybe not the head....

Is it okay to infer that with the exception of DonFig whose TF art were techincally transform capable, the SL UM version must have been THEN based on the upcoming Titanium UM?
I raise the question based on the almost similar TF sequence MP UM has to Titanium UM.

But aren't toys engineered/designed like at least a year in advance of them even going into production, much less actually being available on store shelves? At least that's what I've heard from interviews and such, although of course it may be different in this case since (I don't think) Has/Tak actually designed this one (it was the Micromachines guys or something, right?). If so, then that would put the toy at least a year before the comics, and while I'm certain some level of advance planning goes into the comics, I sincerely doubt those guys are planning this stuff a year ahead unless it's some kind of major arc for the entire series or something.

Yeah! I also like how Tomy implemented that wheel swapping trick. At least UM won't be "roller skating" in robot mode. Can't wait until the end of December.

And yes, Galoob made the Titaniums instead of Hasbro.

I was answering the question in regards to "Which was released first?" rather than "Which was conceived first?" since the former is easier to deduce than the latter.xyl360 wrote:Sabrblade wrote:Probably SL: UM since, while both it and the Titanium came out in 2007, the comic came out in January of that year.fenrir72 wrote:Btw guys, which came first? So, his wheels hide in his feet to be replaced by...slightly different wheels?
OK then.

It's the little things like this that make this so special. That they went this extra mile of swapping out the functional wheels for the vehicle mode with the cartoon-accurate wheels for the robot mode in order to both keep the toy from slipping around on roller skates and adhere to the cartoon design to the nth degree is really impressive.Delta Magnus wrote:So, his wheels hide in his feet to be replaced by...slightly different wheels?

Yeah, I see. It still seems amusing though (a bit like the Voyager DOTM Prime, who has a fake window chest that...covers up his existing window chest...)
Still beats the original Legends Jazz and his amazing roof-grille...

Thanks to fellow Seibertron.com user fenrir72's tip, we have mirrored below some new images of the upcoming Takara Tomy Transformers Masterpiece MP-22 Ultra Magnus, from the official Twitter PR account. It's going to be a heavy hitter, this one, weighing in at almost 1 kg (for reference, MP-10 without the trailer is just above 400 grams), and you can see the diecast that makes it so - check it out!

Based on the proto pics, his feet are die-cast. Good for the base balance but paint chipping nightmare in the future.
