New Review Shows Scale of Rise of the Beasts Optimus Primal Figure

Posted by william-james88 Mar 17, 2022 at 3:01pm CDT 43,532 views
A few reviewers are getting their hands on these Rise of the Beasts figures. Prime vs Prime got some too. He was invited by Hasbro to attend the private event announcing the film, so his review does also compare the figure to what was shown then. But the part that matters most is that we now have a better idea of the scale of these figures. This Optimus Primal and Tigatron figure is supposedly from the Power Alliance Weaponizer 2-Pack (F4611), which is priced at $15.99. Regardless of how simpler he may be, that price becomes quite the bargain for a kids' toy when you see that it is the size of a standard deluxe class figure. Of course, it may be that this is not the correct class and that maybe even Tigatron does not go with this toy. We'll see when they are revealed (or more likely simply released) in the Cyberverse line. This also helps us make sense of the scale of the Optimus Prime figure we saw. Also, fans were quick to point out that this Optimus has the Bayverse blades, further showing that this new era of films/merchandise is building off of the Bay movies (afterall, he is still involve) rather than being a complete reboot. So we'll still see some references to the Bay aesthetic, be it like the blades on Optimus, or Bumblebee's face.

I actually like the head design a lot. It looks like a transformer. Not a human trying to be a Transformer. That always helps. :APPLAUSE:

There's... literally NO difference between the robot mode and the ape mode, except the chest/head piece being inverted, and the feet were rotated.

Uy. Hard pass on these so far...

That's just the basic gimmicky toy.

I'm looking forward the SS voyager.

I should take some notes:

Steal toys from company. Get invited to exclusive premiers.

Ok, got it! I now know the key to success! :-D

And the shoulders. There is almost as much difference here as with the original Primal who also kept the same arms, back and waist as the gorilla mode.

That's just Primal.

I mean, for a kid's toy it's honestly not that much of a surprise, especially considering most Primal toys aren't always that different between modes anyway.
Still, the probable SS figure will be a better purchase for adult collectors anyway.

True - it may be fine for a kiddie toy. But it ain't enough for ME ;)

I'm inclined to think now that the factories and probably Hasbro themselves are 'in' on it with this, to generate buzz for their pending figures. Otherwise, they'd be moving much more aggressively to stop these early leaks. Instead of inviting the primary beneficiary of those leaks over to root through their stuff with permission. Sometimes it really is who you know... ;)

I think the easiest comparison for the Primal figure is to a Cyberverse Warrior class figure. Simple figure with nearly Deluxe articulation, just with the spring loaded weapon gimmick replaced by a weapon partner gimmick at roughly the same price point.

Hasbro is well aware, there will be a movie Primal just for you down the line, everyone wins (especially Hasbro).

Honestly, that Primal looks better than almost all the cyberverse warrior figures I've ever come across. It's really cool how he isn't compromised in any way by the gimmick.

The main point, however, is that if that were true, both parties have then run afoul of YouTube's terms and conditions, which expressly forbids Youtubers from promoting items in this way without without stating that the items were supplied by (Hasbro) for promotional purposes and/or that the video is a sponsored video/hosts sponsored content:

-
"...You may include paid product placements, endorsements, sponsorships, or other content that requires disclosure to viewers in your videos.

If you choose to include any of the above, you have to let us know by selecting the paid promotion box in your video details. See instructions below.

All paid promotions need to follow our Ad Policies and Community Guidelines. You and the brands you work with are responsible for understanding and complying with their local and legal obligations to disclose Paid Promotion in their content. Some of these obligations include when and how to disclose, and to whom to disclose..."

(Source: - https://support.google.com/youtube/answ ... dorsements )

So, either YouTubers like this are either "in cahoots" with Hasbrk (thus breaking YouTube's terms and conditions) or they are receiving stolen goods.

In both cases, they are receiving goods illegitimately to create videos, giving them an unfair advantage over other Youtubers, whilst gaining illicit ad revenue.

My guess would be that he was able to attend due to other reasons, unconnected to his illegitimate videos. Perhaps Hasbro (UK/Asia) gave him the opportunity, without checking his credentials? Or, perhaps he's lying through his back teeth about his invite and they're haven't actually been any events (or that the events were real and open to anyone who knew about them/asked to attend)?

Or (the more likely scenario), hasbro marketing team invited him because of his online following. No conspiracy needed. However, this talk of reviewers isn't relevant to the conversation is it. Let's get back to talking the toys and what it might mean for the rest of the line. There is no need to hash out old arguments about PvP

There's no argument here; he received illegitimate TFs. I do agree that, if he has been invited, it might have been due to some ignorant Hasbro staff member simply looking at his numbers, but that's only due to the fact he gets stolen TFs. What's odd is that Chefatron or Tonton, also in the same thieves' guild, weren't invited.

However, I do appreciate that Seibertron no longer links to his videos, just some screenshots. If only his name could be ommited too. It's not as if he's going to cry fowl about "stealing his property", is it? Omitting his name, or the irrelevant info that he attended a Hasbro event would also help to keep the conversation relevant to the toys.

Please consider this; if Seibertron doesn't want us mentioning him, then Seibertron shouldn't mention him. Why add fuel to the fire and do your best to keep things on topic?

Anyway, the Primal doesn't look half bad. It seems to have more arm and leg articulation than Prime does. Perhaps the lack of colour palette is due to not wanting to confuse the kiddies (AKA, ignorant parents) with two similar "Prime" colour schemes?

Thanks, I only mentioned it in the article because unlike with the chefatron toy review, this review also has the extra information of comparison between the way the toy looks and what PVP was shown at the event. It is related to the news about this toy and gives fans here more information that they did not have before. It is in no way an invitation to rehash an ethics debate which can be done in a different thread if people so wish. We are just talking about the toy here. And I will keep crediting our sources unless they ask us not to credit them. That is the bare minimum for any news site.

Even if we won't know much i'm hoping Rattrap might get a movie version figure down the line just to see him get a deluxe figure?

They did fantastic job with his core class figure in Kingdom. Although i doubt he'll get a role in the film. Giant rat joke.

But isn't core version enough? I would think a Deluxe would be too big, unless you're simply speaking about the engineering that goes into it being higher quality.

To be fair, a rat trap in this line would carty a different style then the Kingdom one
