New TF Sightings and Deals in Canada as Holiday Shopping Season Starts

Posted by william-james88 Nov 3, 2023 at 6:34pm CDT 96,735 views
Christmas shopping season has started at Toysrus. Their stores are stocked to the brim, including the Transformers section. While there is a lot of stock, amount wise, there isn't much variety. It mainly features non Studio Series Rise of the Beasts toys and Cyberverse, which makes sense as they mainly target parents/kids. They also concentrate on their exclusives and their big Transformers deal for the next two weeks combines those two strengths of their: the exclusive mainline Rise of the Beasts 3 pack from the Buzzworthy Bumblebee line.

Below is how various Toysrus stores look like at the moment. You'll notice that they did get the wave 4 Legacy deluxes, but in a small amount, compared to the rest. They are also up to date on the Cyberverse line, with the latest Arcee/Hashtag finger puppets and the warrior Megatron wave.

In other sightings news, the final wave of 2023's Studio Series line is being found in Canada. Leader Primal and the deluxe wave with Mirage and Nightbird has been found at Gamestop.

Seeing Buzzworthy toys alongside that WalMart beast trio is downright surreal. Even if TRU had survived in the States, I wouldn't have it quite that good on my side of the river.

The TRU Canada Volvo truck is too cute. Make that into a super-sized TF exclusive please and thank you!

A movie mainline Cheetor in the same 3 pack as a tv show Optimus Prime, what is the world coming to!

Which Optimus and which Bumblebee is that exactly?

That's not the "ROTB Mainline" Cheetor in that pack with the optimus. That's the CYBERVERSE deluxes 3 pack. A 3 pack that is still way too expensive even on clearance.

All Transformers part of the Generations and Studio Series lines are 40% off at Toysrus right now. And that includes the toys labelled as such in the Buzzworthy line like Studio Series Grimlock and Generations Selects toys. The best part is that the pricier toys are part of this sale too, like the Leaders, Commander and Titans (since both Metroplex and the Nemesis can be found on shelves right now).

Below you'll find examples of this sale on three items:

Leader SS Primal is now 46.17 ($34 USD)
Commander Armada Prime is 80.97 ($60 USD)
Selects Antagony is 28.77 ($21 USD)

Those are some serious deals! If we remember correctly that was the price of Armada Prime back when he came out 2 decades ago.

The irony with Black Friday is that I've been burned so many times before by waiting for a sale to never find the toy in store ever again, that I but everything that I want as soon as it comes out. This result in when a big sale like this happen, I already have everything and I end up buying nothing.

I do that too, but for Optimus Primal, my Amazon order had not shipped yet, so I bought it from TRU and cancelled the amazon order

For some reasons, Amazon take its sweet little time to release things. Appart the obvious Amazon exclusives, I cancel most preorders of the standard stuff because I find them weeks or months in advance either at GameStop or my local geek store.

Agreed and so true. Magnus is a good example of that. Does TRU do rainchecks? Can't remember :-?

They did but I haven't attempted getting one in years since they were the worst option for toys. Low stock, late stock and higher prices.

I went to my local geek store and he had a out ALL the "Walmart exclusive" Legacy G2 toys. He also have the Joe Soundwave, the new JP set, the most recent Buzzworthy Bumblebee toys (including that infamous Optimus) and even the Pulsecon exclusives that are supposed to be only for GameStop.

Looks like most if not all big retailers exclusives will be available at all the small independent shops not too long after their initial releases.

So, dear Canadians, if you can't find the "exclusive" you want at your nearest big name retailer, hit the local independent geek shop. You may be surprised.

Of course I FOMO'd too fast.

Joe Soundwave is now available at Amazon.ca for only 111$ instead of 150$ from the independents shops.

Heads-up, you no longer have to import the Battle Master ROTB Airaizor from Japan. She's right here at Amazon.ca:

No prob!

I already have my 3 and consequently, I had to basically pay double because of the shipping. I will not quad-dip but at least, you and our fellow Canadians can finally get the tiny bird for the normal price without having to pay extra.

We've heard of Transformers exclusives ending up at liquidators like Ross or Ollie's in the US and BOOM or Treasure Hunt in Canada but this new sighting takes the cake. We got wind that three Transformers exclusives (two of which were never sold in Canada before) are now available at Samko and Miko toy warehouse, which only has 2 locations in all of Canada. They do have an online presence which means anyone in Canada can order from them. The three toys in question are the Beast Wars rereleases of Iguanus and Wolfang along with Legacy Minerva. All of these are $20 CAD ($15 USD) each and shipping is free above the $75 threshold.

Here is a link to these toys for interested Canadians: https://samkoandmikotoywarehouse.com/pr ... -playsets/

I don't care about these specific toys, but I do care about finding out one more hunting ground.

I'll double check their reputation before buying though. I've been burned once already and that was enough.

Thanks for the heads-up!
