I've seen all of Kingdom between late december and mid january in stores, and online. However more recently after that first push all sold out, nothing has come in to replace any of it, at least in stores, the shelves are all bare.
Back in December, Core-class Rattrap and Prime were shipped out by Amazon. Then Gamestop dropped Megatron and Cyclonus. I picked up the rest in-person at a Target.

Ive seen Megatron and Optimus Prime at retail. Well, once I saw Megatron and I passed on him - which I regret.

Last week my Amazon BW Megatron got pushed back to May 15th and Grimlock got pushed to June 5th, then a day later I got a cancelation notice for Grimlock. So good luck on those. Guess I'll cross my fingers that they eventually show up in my corner of Western PA.

Good, he addressed the broken pegs on Grapple and confirmed that they did fix them on Inferno. The pegs are now shorter, almost half the size, and no longer hollow and better mounted. Not sure why the people who got him earlier said the pegs hadn't been fixed, I didn't think that sounded right looking at their pictures.

I wouldn't say "fixed" per se, because it's a whole new piece, not a changed one. They may have noticed the breaking issue with Grapple and quickly changed the design of the pegs on Inferno while they were able to (before cutting the molds?). Inferno being released significantly later may have helped the timing.
Whatever you wanna call it, good to see Inferno doesn't seem to have that problem. Now we wait to see if the problem pops up again with Hauler

It gets more enjoyable the older they get. My son is almost 15, but I occasionally brag about him (and my daughter who just turned 16). Although he is developing his own interests now, he still enjoys our mutual TF Generations collection.

Also grabbed Optimus Primal. Actually don't have ANY Primals, so it's a real first for me. Wasn't planning to, but he was there and I was in an impulse buying mood. Haven't opened him just yet.

and having got him, he is not that good. I don't like him.
To start with, the head sculpt is ugly. The only nice thing about it is the light piping, but even that's the wrong color.
The purple is awful, I was hoping maybe it was pictures like Sunstreaker, but wow the purple sucks, and there are 2 different shades used around that don't work together. And it isn't even remotely right, it should be a dark purple. The fact that the CW Cyclonus has the best purple still is kinda funny and sad.
And also, his legs pretty much suck? The shape, the detailing, and the knees all kind of annoy me, plus more strange purple mismatching on the kneepads.
So yeah, I just don't like him, really at all. I'm really let down, this is supposedly the best Cyclonus ever and best figure of the line so far, and he's just not even remotely any of that to me.

also just realized something, and I am shocked no one else has made this comparison: Kingdom cyclonus is to RTS cyclonus as the ER seeker mold is to the classics one. The engineering is really similar, things end up in exactly the same locations. Kingdom is the RTS upsized and "improved".
And that also helps explain some stuff. I did not like the RTS Cyclonus, so this one also not doing it as an upsizing makes sense as well.

So if i want an IDW MTMTE/ Lost Light Cyclonus im better sticking with Combiner Wars?

I got to say though, after all the praise he's been getting, your thoughts is a 180 on him. It's quite interesting really.
Thinking further, I wouldn't say no to a Transformers Comics Legends series that did finally give us IDW/Marvel comic characters as they appeared on page.

I would say yes. the CW Cyclonus remains my favorite one, mainly for the better head and the proper purple. the only place I can say Kingdom beats it is in posing and cleaner jet mode underside, both posing doesn't mean too much to me and the CW jet mode is still good. and even amongst any 3P options, he is still the closest you get without a RTS cyclonus with the upgrade kit from years ago.
I have no idea why this Cyclonus is considered one of the best toys around. I just don't see it. I want to, but I can't. Maybe I'm just too young/the wrong generation to appreciate this aesthetic/color/design

This ^^^ I know the knees are a love them or hate them kind of thing and I for one love them, they do work well for posing. Then you got that nosecone that just unfolds foooooorrrrreeeevvvver which is cool and kind of a trip. The way the wings tuck back into the arms for bot mode and the flip back out for jet mode is also fancy. The color is not the best, I would prefer a deeper purple, but Kingdom Cyclonus is fun.

I never got CW cyclonus because the robot mode looks disgusting to me, though kingdom version isn't without his flaws. I dont really care about the proper shades of purple so it doesn't affect me but the shoulder joint placement is a little weird and the head would've been cooler with a goatee or something, thats just if I want to be nitpicky about it. Gun storage right on top of the jet isn't my favorite so I store weapons under wings but it looks off that way too. More flexion at the bicep would've been nice (for sword poses though he wasn't meant to have one), and it's a bit annoying that the wrists are so tight and the forearms open up as easily as they do. But all that is if im searching for things to dislike, I like this cyclonus far better than the RTS version (now his "armada").

I value transformations as well, it's the main reason I like the MPM-10 Starscream as much as I do, but this one has already been done, so to me, it's not as exciting. Now someone like Cliffjumper from ER, that was wholly new to me and is still a reason he is one of my favorite WFC bots. Same with Cheetor in Kingdom so far
Razorbeast88 wrote:I would argue that MMC version was a decent 3rd party IDW styled cyclonus, though i never owned the figure
Even that one didn't work, it used the light colors and the robot mode and jet mode were not accurate. It was frustratingly like their Whirl: IDW inspired, but completely different and ultimately not a good option. Those 2 releases still irritate me to no end, I do not own a lot of 3P out of principle, and only buy 3P when an official version of whatever it is does not exist, but I would have bought those 2 if done correctly.

Maybe because there's only three relevant ones? And one is just too small now.
I actually hate the CW version, lol. The only reason I have it is because he's a voyager Cyclonus. I mean the colors are true to the movie, although I do like a deeper shade of purple. And the face is a bit too square. Like the older character model as opposed to the final. But, for me, this is the Cyclonus I want.
If there was a version of this with a deeper purple or a more round face, then it's be better.
I don't think he's like the old Universe one, though. He's based off the same character, so robot to vehicle will have some similarities, but I don't think there's a lot of similarities. Especially not compared to Starscream VS Classics.

I'm not talking just Cyclonus, people saying he is already the best figure of both this year, WFC, and a couple even calling him the best toy of the 1986 movie cast ever made. Character is one thing, but the wide range has been more like "best ever".
And I know I'm in the minority on the CW one, but to me, that one at least got the purple right. And if your entire body is colored in a bad color, any other good things are pretty hard to enjoy

3P has been less tempting since they all went in on MP and HasTak has been making a LOT more of what I want.

I don't think he's the best out of the entire movie cast or this year. I do like Scourge more. I think Hot Rod is the best of the ones I have.
I do like the purple on the CW one, but that's about all I like. Overall he's just too stiff and blocky and not-really-looking-like-Cyclonus-y. Great for Silverbolt, though. I dislike his head too. I mean he has the size and the color and, I guess, the jet mode if you ignore the robot doing yoga on the bottom.
The thing about the purple is that it's the purple from the movie. At least in some screencaps. It's what it's supposed to be. It's hard to complain about it when it's how the character looks like.

I really do not like CW Cyclonus though, he just carries that distinct CW awkwardness and Silverbolt's "Jet" problem. I can't comment on him in hand though, I skipped him for those reasons.
I hope Hasbro was just saving the deep purple for Galvatron and used the lavender on Cyclonus for variety's sake.

Having had the Universe Deluxe before, I can say that I still found the transformation exciting and would not consider it on the same level as as the classics seeker to ER seeker upscaling. There are definitely a number of items that are the same or very similar, particularly how the arms themselves transform and that the nose of the jet folds into the chest. But the nose transformation on the deluxe fairly simple, collapse the telescoping tip and then fold the whole thing away. There is nothing on the deluxe quite like the origami they have going on for the nose of the jet on the Kingdom version, which was the biggest draw for me. Then add on the 180 rotation of the jet windows and the arms to lock them into jet mode, and I'm all in on this mold, it is really just fun to transform.

I don’t find his coloring all that offensive since he seems to be depicted as a dusky purple, though they could have gone with the bluer purple that’s on the sides of his chest. The head sculpt isn’t great but isn’t terrible either. What I love about this Cyclonus is that he looks great in both forms. The jet looks like a funky jet and not jet parts on top of a box and the robot mode has a nice proportion. The clean transformation is just a bonus.

Woah.
Those toys feel PREMIUM in and out. Nothing feel cheap. The paint work is perfect. Everthing feel solid. Joints are tight. Plus both are what we may call "mini masterpieces". They are also to scale with one another. A first in the regular lines since BW is a thing.

Transforming Primal was easy enough. Plus I love the fact that you can do the "normal" gorilla, or the standing one. Megs was damn scary to transform. Because everything is so THIGHT, I was affraid a few times to break something. Especially the torso clip... But once the groove was on, transforming Megs was a pleasure and it resulted in a PERFECT T-Rex that is ridiculously articulated.

Overall, the beasts in the Kingdom line are absolutely fantastic. I planned to skip on Cheetor but now I have to get him. Paleotrex too.
