Blast! Still missed the top three. Still though, I did better than last time. I didn't even place in the top ten in that one.

Next time though!

There were some good entries. I'm surprised my ranked so high. Congrats to all the winners! I'm still suggesting that multiple entries be allowed for the next contest to increase the number of entries.

Hm. I didn't nottice that. I think first place one is the best simply because of the layout of the actual photo.

In all honesty, you did have a fight against dragons and were told it wouldn't count...

Not dragons - dragon singular. St george slayed one according to legend and that legend is why he is the patron saint of england.
I was maybe a bit too loose with the theme of history and strayd into myth and legend so i can understand taht but if your going on the it only counts if it really happened route then half of the entrys cant be proven to be historically accurate either. Just the nature of history really things that are considered histrical fact now maybe disproven in the future and history can be changed at any point depending on who records it.
Next time ill try and get more on message with the theme sorry guys.

Wow. My 1st photocontest and got 1st place. Thanks so much! So excited! :D

Congrats to other winners! I thought the Astrotrain would received a higher place, the photography skill is nice.

I have a suggestion that future contests should give off-topic entries a chance to re-submit a legitimate one so that the contest would be more exciting and fun. It would be one-time for each entry only.

Can't wait for the next one.

It is a legend. But I don't think the christians being fed to lions got in too since that is also fable or myth. In both cases they are considered "history". There my have been some truth behind the story but it got lost in the countless telling and retelling of the fables.

I did say a while ago if the dragon couldn't stay then the people being fed to the lions should also go. I happen to be partial to dragons.

I agree, but only if the hightest scoring entry would get counted. All other entries from that person would be null and void. I think of it as kind of a "shotgun strategy", or a bit of a second chance. Also sometimes you kind of don't like your entry once it's been entered, and feel you could have done better, specially if something really, really good gets enetred afterwards.

I'd still like to know where I finished, even though it wasn't in the top ten.

I'm not very comfortable with this, but if you really truly must know, you finished in 15th place.

Ouch --B--. I went back and took a look at yours, and I can't believe it got that low. In my opinion, I thought it was funny, clever, on topic, and very well done. Don't give up though, there's always next time.

Yes, my thought is that it would be one entry per week. So if the contest is 3 weeks you would have a max of 3 entries with each entry being submitted a week apart. And your best entry would be counted towards the ranking list. I think this solves 2 problems; the low number of entries and keeps people who submitted early from getting bored with the contest.

(Here I go again...)
I'm still a firm believer that putting a Photocontest ad on the front page ("Feature Spotlight," or something) would get more entries.

I do agree with Omega-1. It can get boring sometimes, especially when there are extensions which usually can be avoided if my above point is applied.

I am terribly terribly sorry about how long it took me to get these done. I had planned to do it the night this was posted but things being as they are around here at home and all... dead mice, live mice, moving beds, colour work etc... I just got a moment.

Please download these to your own Photobuckets, Thanks
