Quick Video Review of Studio Series Voyager Rhinox

Okay. SO I saw his face and my first thought was Doom from the first Fantastic Four movie. Am I wrong?

That Rhinox look very, VERY good. He may be the best looking one so far, all lines included.

LMAO. My post just before you made yours said the same thing

Looks very nice in both bot and alt mode. But... they took away his ability to open his mouth? The feature that was on every other Rhinox figure? And now also the iconic roaring scene from the trailers?

*edit* NVM, rewatched the vid and there seems to be a tiny hinge for the tiny brown underside of the rhino mouth. So it probably can open. He's just got a tiny mouth now compared to his other counterparts.

According to The Low Road, it's not his mouth blast that you should be worried about

I am a bit disappointed most of these voyager beast-formers only have a basic "stand-up and walk" transformation. So much wasted puzzle-potential.

Transmetal Rhinox outclasses this toy in complexity.

It really is. Plus the odd decision to give them zero beast kibble in robot mode means they've all got pretty generic and boring silhouettes.

Here's a pretty light custom to "complete" the SS38 Optimus Prime.
My friend found some random toy truck at Walmart yesterday. The livestock trailer was almost perfect and it only needed to had the trailer pin modified to fit the truck's trailer hitch. Then, some leftover Repros. Finally, add some ROTB Battle Masters and BAM! Beast Carrying Optimus Prime!

The only way to be able to tell is to look up close while the vehicle is on a dead stop. I've seen these kind of trailers often on the road and its always hard to tell what's inside when on the road.

In this case it's more like two normal sized big cats, a medium sized croc and a baby rhino.

I like it, it reminds me of the old circus trains.

I found a similar trailer but this one is a tanker. Some more heavy mods will be required for it to fit my leader SS ROTB Scourge.It will have to be repainted and Repro'd. Look forward to it!

As overly excited as I am for the megs/ratbat set, I am equally as underwhelmed but the shockwave/orion set. Make no mistake, I think they did a good job with what they had to work with. Just doesn't wow me.Lots of people called them using Hound for orion. Same people (myself included) were expecting metalhawk to be used for shockwave.

Yeah, that Shockwave 2-pack is a must have. I didn't see Siege Hound as the base for Pax, but at least it's not Kup again. And Shockwave looks great. I wasn't a big fan of the tetra jet mold, but it fits that character well.

And still no Sunstorm out of the ER Seeker mold.

I prefer the Orion pax that came in the Hero is born 2-pk over this ugly looking monstrosity.
Abut the only one's that appealed to me are Senator Shockwave and to a lesser degree Ratbat, the others in these 2-pk are horrid looking. IMO

Not into ROTB or any of the newest Animated stuff or VG versions. That Brawn is starting to look alright to me and might actually get him, I'm not that big a fan of the character per say and was planning to pass but being there doesn't seem to be much coming that appeals to me I may just have to get him to fill out the minibots. Still on the fence about Beachcomber since I already have the previous version so it will depend on my mood and how well it actually looks in person.

Pretty much only getting about four with those being, Devcon, Brawn, Ratchet, Frenzy. And potentially Commander Magnus, Beachcomber.

IDW inspired sets lookn interesting.
Need more images of Rise of the Beasts Optimus truck mode. That may be the deciding factor if I wanna get the mainline voyager or this one.

That Brawn is supposed to be deluxe, right? Looks very core-sized.

Core DOTM Bee is finally here, and he does have a new battle mask head!

"Small Deluxe" like most of the other Mini Cars, his parts count and transformation steps far exceeds any Core.

Yeah that's what I figured. He just looks very simple.

Pretty much the only one that tempted me off the bat was 86 Brawn. Something about that Man-at-Arms head...

Gamer Megs looks fantastic, RotB Prime looks stellar (loving the truck mode with its front bullbar and his big exhausts), Brawn looks pretty good, and I knew it would've been a no-brainer with how Cliffjumper would look. (I don't mind it at all, it makes sense, I just would've preferred his WfC DS look).
Couldn't care less about the IDW stuff.

Just as a heads up for anyone interested in the Ratbat/Megatron pack, Amazon has accidentally switched the prices, so instead of the $69.99 it should be for two Voyager figures, it's listed for the $54.99 price of the Voyager/Deluxe pack of Shockwave/Pax. Hop on it before they notice and fix the mistake!

Pre-orders are up for the Megs and Ratbat 2-pack (at least for US buyers), for only $55. If you want the set, you may want to jump in before they'll probably fix the price.

I don't know how well Amazon honors prices but they have the two 2-packs up for preorder with the opposite prices. Meaning that Senator Ratbat and Miner Megatron are listed for $54.99 instead of $69.99. This also means that the Orion Pax and Senator Shockwave set is listed at the $69.99 instead of $54.99. Obviously they'll fix this at some point but it might be a chance to get them both at the $54.99 so long as Amazon honors that price for Ratbat and Megatron once the preorder is put in.

The reveals were cool. Nothing I feel I have to add to my collection, but I know some others will be excited.

A couple of questions though....

1. Is Detritus based on Siege Hound, or the *still to be revealed* Earth Mode Buzzworthy Hound?
2. What Black Hole has The Buzzworthy Hound & Buzzworthy DotM Hatchet fallen into?
3. When are we getting Diaclone colored Topspin to go with Twintwist?

Interesting price snafu, Pulse has the Shockwave 2-pk listed for $54.99 which is likely why it's already sold out. lol

I'd have definitely bough it for that price over $70 since I only want one Bot!
