Getting Brawl and company in the mail tomorrow, good to know I don't have to glue or slice him up to fix a QC issue! Thanks for the fix mate!

For what it's worth, I don't think it's a manufacturing issue so much as a miscommunication issue. The engineer responsible for Brawl didn't talk to the paint guy didn't talk to the manufacturing guy, so paint got put on the part that wasn't actually supposed to look forward to begin with, and then that part got assembled that way.
These things happen more often than you'd think, unfortunately.
Someone pointed this out in the comments section of the Youtube video. The stock photos for CW G2 Brawl actually use the corrected waist orientation.
