It's happening again, folks! As was done not long ago with Wreck-Gar and Nemesis Prime, it appears that Takara Tomy will indeed be releasing more Hasbro-exclusive Power of the Primes figures (and one from Titans Return) in their domain as well. Old Toys R Us exclusive Grotusque will see release, as will Amazon exclusive Repugnus and the SDCC exclusive Throne of the Primes figure set.
The news isn't all roses however, as while Throne of the Primes is being released as a regular part of Takara's Power of the Primes line (as PP-43), Grotusque and Repugnus will be instead released as part of the LG-EX line - meaning they will be harder to obtain than regular Takara Transformers, and likely cost a significant amount more to boot.
Despite this, it's good to know that fans will have more opportunities to obtain these otherwise-exclusive toys, especially the much-desired but hard-to-obtain Throne of the Primes! Check out images below from Dengeki Hobby and Twitter user @Chohenken, and share any thoughts you may have in the Energon Pub Forums. And of course, stay tuned for the last few snippets of WonFes news right here on Seibertron.com!

He said a little while back that Inferno was the best (or one of the best, I forget) voyagers from POTP. I didn't say anything but I clearly couldnt believe it. He is by far the laziest toy of the bunch since the only retooled element is his head. WEAK!
I wasnt gonna get him but when I saw him in the store, he looked fine. The head looked good, the colours too and thanks to coupons, I got him for -2$ (pretty much he cost $22 and my total order before buying him was $30 and I had a "save 25$ on an order over 50$" coupon so I bought him to save 2$ on what I was already buying).
And you know what? D-Max could be right. Maybe not the best (that probably goes to Hun Gurrr), but up there and better than Grimlock and the jets. He looks good as Inferno. And its not like Hotspot wears the mold better, the alt mode looks nothing like G1 for either of them so its fair game. the colours look great, that red is perfect. Very vibrant (better than the red used on the Classics Inferno). And it makes a cool red and white combiner torso. The plastic also feels better on Inferno than Hotspot and I like how they painted the light bar. It just works and it makes me enjoy the hot spot mold more than when Hot Spot was wearing it.
So yeah D-Max, I have no problems with Inferno. No even with the stickers. He looks good and feels good, and I dont think I need more than that.

Yeah, I did say he was the best.
And I totally feel this. You all probably remember how frustrated I was with the whole idea of the figure.
But he's one of those figures where in hand, he kills. Will nails every point: while he's not "G1" Inferno with too much, he is a great Inferno, a Cybertronian version even, that feels better than any other version of the mold, makes 3 great molds, and fixes all the issues of the old takes.
Well said Will. I'm sort of glad it's not just me that find Inferno much better and worth it in hand.

That's what I did, as someone outside the us and it worked well. Amazons international shipping has been more affordable as of late.
If editor is reading, thank she for the tip!
And Kanrabat, trust me going the amazon.com route will be cheaper than getting LG X figures at 40$usd on BBTS

If I ever got Inferno, he will be combined with Ironhide, Lightspeed, Blades and Fireflight, going for the all red look.Sabrblade wrote:I want to get Inferno to turn him into a Magnificent Six (minus one) combiner with Jazz, Prowl, Wheeljack, and Sunstreaker.
And who is your 6th?
Would the orange Legends Wreck-Gar look good on Inferno in torso mode?
I actually convinced myself to pass on Inferno, because fat chance I'll see him in stores around me, but now that Willy J has given a glowing review in addition to D-Max, I might have to get him anyway.

None. I said "Magnificent Six (minus one)". Stampede was killed so the others are the five surviving members of the group. Silverbolt was implied to be a potential new member, but CW Silverbolt is another torso bot so he can't work with Inferno.Rodimus Prime wrote:If I ever got Inferno, he will be combined with Ironhide, Lightspeed, Blades and Fireflight, going for the all red look.Sabrblade wrote:I want to get Inferno to turn him into a Magnificent Six (minus one) combiner with Jazz, Prowl, Wheeljack, and Sunstreaker.

Not all of the combiners in my CW/UW/POTP combiner plans have a Legends class sixth member.

I feel that is lots of people's opinion. So I might do a quick review/editorial about showing the positive points on why he might be worthwhile for one's collection.

It's nice they fixed that silly knee issue Pyra and G2 Onslaught had, among others I think. The colors do work great.
He makes a great voyager Inferno, and red and white torso works really good with lots of different limb bots.
He felt excessive and completiony until I opened him up and the fun began.

Speaking of Inferno, who is every one planning to combine him with? Personally, I'm going with Swoop, Alpha Bravo, CW Strafe, and Dust Up.

No one, he is perfect by himself. He and Sky Lynx shall be the 2 spare torsos that rock the awesomesauce by themselves. Elita might, if I decide not to combine her, Jazz, Wreck Gar, and the limb gals.
I already pretty much have Inferno as a torso already in Defensor (who is still my favorite combiner despite how good Abominus is, his torso mode detailing is great!) and I already have a case (Superion and Computron) of combiner torsos having the same head and chest, so He will remain as is.
Inferno is actually so good alone that I don't mind not having a team for him

Ya know, a reference like this might just be why they decided to do a Jazz and Inferno in this line, especially since they really are the odd 2 ducks out

However, keep in mind, Walgreens online search for him in stores is going to likely tell you how many PotP deluxes total they have in stock, and not necessarily just Wreck Gar, even if you search just Wreck Gar's listing. This is how it was with Brainstorm. It does mean he should be showing up soon though.

Here you go!

I quite like this configuration. It's rescue-vehicle themed...except for Jazz. I'm just pretending his a music therapist or something. Alpha Bravo I consider a Coast Guard rescue helicopter, even though he doesn't have any signage. The use of orange and white on his (with some blue too) looks close enough to the real deal. I originally had "Firestormer" here with Combiner Wars Smokescreen, but I swapped him with Unite Warriors Ratchet to better match the theme and the overall color scheme for Firestormer. Unite Warriors Sky Reign now looks like his Hasbro Counterpart (with an ever so slightly better deco), which I'm frankly fine with.

Try switching Jazz with Prowl.
Prowl is already spoke for, though, as part of Optimus Maximus/Convoy Grand Prime. His membership is canon too, as evidenced by the IDW Transformers comics and the Unite Warriors manga. In fact, Prowl's and Optimus Prime's ability to final reconcile with one another is the reason that Optimus Maximus was every able to form at all in the IDW story, so switching him out seems disingenuous to that combiner time as a whole.
What I would love instead is a Combiner Wars Red Alert to complete the Firestormer team. It would be perfect having the bromantic duo of Inferno and Red Alert together in the same gestalt form.

It's a very nice toy homage of G1 Blast Off. It holds together well, but not perfectly. It's still a core to get the top tail fins to really hold together fast. They just don't want to snap together snuggly and leave a bit of a gap between them. Many of the same issues with the Unite Warriors release of Blast Off are still present, like the loose head joint and the back halves of the shuttle being a bit tough to get to stay together seamlessly. This may very well be a "Your Mileage May Very" situation. So far, Movor/Shuttler has been the best release of this mold in terms of quality control, at least in my experience.
Another issue with this release comes from the fact that Hasbro decided to use the toy configuration instead of the cartoon configuration for robot mode, meaning that the arms in shuttle mode face the wrong way, exposing their hollow parts. You can turn the arms around to hide that, but then the arms won't tab into the sides of the shuttle and the tops of the wings like they are supposed to. The arms will pretty much stay in place regardless, though, thanks to some tight joints, but it's up to you how important that step in the transformation is in terms of functionality or aesthetics.
If you're like me and you already have Unite Warriors Bruticus and are wondering how well this Hasbro Blast Off works combined with the other Unite Warriors Combaticons, you'll be pleased to know it all works rather well. The brown Hasbro used coordinates VERY well with the greenish-brown highlights used on Onslaught. They're not exactly the same shade, but they are close, and they look great together. The hand-foot-gun doesn't quite match the other ones in the UW set, since Hasbro opted to paint the "meat" of the hand silver. It is exactly the same mold as the UW version, though, so you can just use that one instead if you want to use the Hasbro version as a limb. The chest plate on Bruticus of course doesn't match Blast Off's coloring, so you loose the "illusion" that it's made of his shuttle wings, but being that the wings are obviously there on Blast Off's "sleeve" anyway, it's not that big of a problem. The dark gunmetal gray and the tan coloring of the chest piece of UW Bruticus also don't clash, in my opinion, with the dark brown Hasbro Blast Off. Those colors don't seem to really go with anything else on the figure, but it still works fine. Personally, for better or worse, I'll be sticking to the Unite Warriors Blast Off for now, but I do like having the option of the Hasbro version in case I change my mind in the future. If anyone would like, I could take some pics later of Unite Warriors Bruticus with Hasbro's shuttle Blast Off.

Actually they're a team of Aerial Bots it's in the name. One could be a Zeppelin, Kite or a bird and the theme would still be valid.
A Rhino and a Buffalo in a team of Predators...??
A space shuttle in a team of combat vehicles...??
If speed is the issue then why accept a Lorry in a team of Race/Stunt Cars?

I question the level Terror I feel when looking at Blot compared to the others....
