A few new updates on TakaraTomy'sWebsite.

As you know, Metroplex was released last week in Japan. Now, you can check out official pictures from Takara. Click here.

Also, noteworthy are three Universe Ultra figures, which will be released as exclusive repaints in Japan – Onslaught, Powerglide, and Silverbolt. Each image below offers a view of the Japanese repaint and the U.S. version. These figures are slated for release October 16th.

Onslaught features a greenish/blue shade that matches his G1 color more closely.

I'm pretty disappointed with these slightly modified universe figures! The price tag is rediculous! $55 BUCKS! I didn't like paying the standard 25 dollars over here in the states for hasbro's version. The only Takara figure worth buying is Onsault because of his paint and thats it. Power glide is molded in red plastic which doesn't require a doubled price tag, but if it was painted then it's a must buy. Silverbolt is a disappiontment in it's self for the fact that his transformation is too simple. I love the look of him in robot mode, but just feel jipped. A simple swap of colored plastic doesn't seem to justify a second purchase for such a character. I know alot of people don't dig on the chrome Takara usaully uses, but I think it would have helped if placed right. Oh and Metroplex is a must buy and a half! :D

Most of that price tag is because they are Japanese imports, not because of their construction or color differences.

For me the only one that was worth it was Powerglide. The US release does nothing for me, and can languish on the shelves.

Will the Takara versions also have the electronics of the Hasbro version?

Silverbolt white plane mode does look good.

But i'm sticking to cheaper Hasbro versions. :P

Henkei Powerglide reminds me of Classics Blades.

Huh.

Yes. I also presume that these will come in the U.S. packaging like MP Starscream, US version because these three Ultras are being labeled as US version.

Indeed
I'm really hoping for Scorponok or Overlord.

I'd like a Targetmaster Cyclonus & Scourge 2 pack, personally.

It would suck if Encore ended.
