Target Offering 15% off Non-Generations Robots in Disguise Figures Through Cartwheel App

Posted by D-Maximal_Primal Nov 13, 2016 at 12:35pm CST 27,087 views
Fellow Seibertronian Rysquad has dropped in to let us know that Target is offering a 15% discount of several of its Robots in Disguise toys through its Cartwheel app. The offer appears to state that only the simplified transformers are available for this deal, as "generations" figures are excluded from the deal, and the Warrior class is considered the Robots in Disguise version of generations. The deal expires November 19, so head on out to Target and use that cartwheel app to get some Robots in Disguise figures!

Those "Power Surge" figures are on sale in just about everywhere that sells such things in the UK they appear to be poor value though when reductions to £15.99 or £14.99 or even £12.99 for the normal 3-steps are rather common too I'd not want to pay £25.00+ for one when they are also saying the MSRP is £35.00. Especially considering they didn't put a lot of effort into their Minicons either. I suspect they have made to many of those so I can happily wait for a better sale on them. to be honest I'd have to think hard to even consider buying them for half price as they are such 'no-effort' toys.

I tend to ask myself the question - is it worth buying these two for £25.00 each or saving that £50.00 and being quite likely to find something 3rd party or a couple of Takara toys for that sort of money.

Basically a revision case.
That's what I thought it was.

Thats wave 8.

Its just that by the time you saw them, fans already bought the more recent figures. But it means your store is almost up to date since we are currently at wave 9.

I asked mysef the same question and I chose to save my money for items I wanted more, like those Takara movie anniversary toys :)

Will, are you sure about that "Wave 9" title? I'm pretty sure it's wave 8.

Wave 1: Bee, Grim, Strong, Steel
Wave 2: Drift, Prime
Wave 3: Swipe, Jazz
Wave 4: Night Bee, Gold Grim
Wave 5: Strike Bee, Fracture, Megatronus, Blizzard Prime
Wave 6: Blizzard Drift, Quill, Thunder
Wave 7: Windblade, Scorponok, Power Prime
Wave 8: Ratchet, Bisk, Scatterspike

Every wave pretty much had more figures in it to restock older toys and also carry new titles, like the new minicon tag and eventual Combiner Force tag

Ratchet, Bisk and Scatterspike are wave 9: http://www.entertainmentearth.com/prodi ... CoWLrcvfIU

Wave 8 was entirely made up of toys already out. Still counts as a wave, just like there was a second wave of Combienr Wars Leaders in 2016, but it was made up of toys already out before.

That really makes no sense to my why that would happen. Is there anyplace else that showed this wave 8/wave 9 stuff? Entertainment Earth has had some weird stuff in the past (such as saying Sunstreaker was wave 5 in CW, but none of the others had that listing) and BBTS has it as Wave 4 2016, so wave 8 overall

You could see it as a revision case that EE counts as a seperate wave. And it makes sense to me. Afterall, it is getting to stores in the same way and its a way of knowing where they are at.

And as I said, its like CW Leaders 2016 wave 2 http://www.entertainmentearth.com/prodi ... CofM7cveM8

This reminds me of g1 actually. While reading the history of toy releases, there was a time when Hasbro would just rerelease older toys for a "wave". Ramjet just kept being released year after year (apparently, I wasnt there)

After the sighting of these Transformers: Robots in Disguise figures was reported here, we have a video review from fellow Seibertronian chuckdawg1999 for the three-step Hyperchange Drift toy, in its show accurate orange deco - also part of the Weaponizer line. Check it out below!

Drift is the latest addition to the Hyper Change sub-line, of chunky over-sized figures, under the Robots In Disguise banner. Transformation is of course easy, but the addition of the Weaponizer gimmick adds an extra level of play value.

What makes it even more perfect is its all being the same guy. Past self and present self fusing into the future self.

Meanwhile, photobombing Animated Soundwave is just there all like "Hi, Mom!" :P

I have a question on the side: I have the regular retail version of Warrior Class Power Surge Optimus Prime, as much as I love the wing swords (the axe not so much, I may donate it to WFC Prime) he feels incomplete compared to the larger toy due to lack of a proper sword.
Which sword accessory would suit him best? I was looking at the one belonging to Clash 3-Step Optimus Prime:

But the orange really kills it. Any suggestions, preferably in either light blue, grey or black? Even the ones from the Decepticon Island Showdown set will do, but was it even released?

Get the Decepticon Island showdown set. It has plenty of weapons, and it has been sitting in my TRU for 2 months now, so you should be able to find it no sweat

Guess I should, I've been meaning to get more RiD toys now like Windblade, despite passing on Bumblebee and Steeljaw last year. Can anyone post a pic of the sword in Warrior Prime's fist to see how it looks?
