Transformers: Devastation Playable Characters Trailer

Seeing all the characters in action really cements for me how monotonous, repetitive, and boring the game actually looks to be; shame, I really wanted a decent hack'n'slash game with tf's in it, but I guess I'll have to keep waiting

Hee hee - What they did with Blitzwing in the animated series was brilliant, so much so that it's wended its way into other parts of the Tformers franchise. Nice work.

Yeah, but can we really be impressed by the whole "Got back the original/most iconic voice cast" thing anymore? Especially since Peter Cullen is basically the only guy who voices Optimus anymore.

Peter Cullen should be the ONLY guy EVER to voice Optimus Prime.

This guy, who also does Honest Trailers, does an AMAZING Optimus Prime voice.

He'd have to. From what I understand, Peter Cullen has an "over my dead body" policy regarding Jon officially voicing Optimus. Something about how he's not down with other people mimicking him that closely and getting paid for it.

Well, when's the last time we had something post-G1 get all of the these guys back together at once to work on the same TF project? Prime had Cullen and Welker, but not Gilvezan, Berger, or Bell. FOC had Cullen and Berger, but not the other three. Rescue Bots has had Cullen and Bell, but not the other three. This is the first time in a very long time to have all five of these men doing official Transformers voice work together.

I'm going to be camping outside of my local Gamestop a week before this game comes out, just so I can be one of the first people on the planet to purchase and play it.

If one likes the G1 voice actors and has been wanting to see them get back together to reprise their original TF roles all at once in some official capacity (which has not happened since the 1980s), then why wouldn't one (not necessarily YOU, but one who fits that description) be impressed?

I myself don't quite fall into this category of fan, but I do recognize how getting back five of the originals to return to perform their original roles after all these years of such never happening in over two decades is at least somewhat impressive.

They could have just gotten any modern VAs to do the work and, aside from Peter Cullen, most folks would have expected the gamemakers to have done that. But instead, they went the extra mile of getting the guys who vocally pioneered these characters just as Peter Cullen did for Optimus. That shows how much care was put into the vocals of the game, and a company showing that they truly do care about their work and doing their job better than they had to is at least somewhat commendable.

What is it that you find so alien about the idea of people giving praise to the game for its bringing back an exceptional number of familiar voices from the cartoon that said game takes so much influence from and said people remember and cherish to this day?

Did they get Corey Burton back to voice Shockwave?
