Transformers Generations Selects Greasepit Revealed

Posted by Bounti76 Jun 25, 2020 at 1:46pm CDT 46,930 views
And the (unofficial) reveals keep coming! Thanks to Nemesis Primal and scotty_P here at Seibertron, we have pictures of the upcoming Generations Selects Greasepit! Numbered as WFC GS-12, Greasepit is a recolor and repaint of Siege Ironworks. Greasepit takes his name from the original Micromaster Greasepit from G1, though this toy is a combination of the character and the Micromaster base he came with.

Ready to add another Decepticon to your collection? Like Exhaust in the previous news story, we don't know exactly when these figures will be officially revealed or released, but with these packaged samples from an Ebay auction showing up, we're likely to know soon.

Eh. Maybe not.

The yellow missile at the front looks like the red one with Sideswipe but the pistol handle looks different.

Really? It just looks like a repaint of Ironworks' gun to me.

I stand corrected. Actually, I'm sitting but you know what I mean.

Easy pass, didn't like the figure as wheeljack in its first use and a decepticon with a generic merc symbol on him is pretty bad, if he's a merc with out a company he would still likely have his own symbol or be symbol less.

While I didn't pick up Wheeljack, I'll definitely pick up Exhaust. His colors work really well, plus, that badge looks really good. Greasepit's also a buy because I love the little baseformers

It's the mercenary symbol, first time we've seen it used in the toys.

While Greasepit looks to be a straight-up repaint of Ironworks, I'm happy to see that Greasepit will still have it's dual Gas Pumps (right hand) and Gas Station Sign (left shoulder). :APPLAUSE: :APPLAUSE: :APPLAUSE:

Yeah, intellectually, I knew that he would be a straight up repaint of Ironworks, but I just thought, maybe through use of accessories they'd put a little more effort into making it look like an actual Gas Station, rather than just the Construction Station with gas pumps instead of a hook. Oh well... It's not terrible, Besides I was going to pretty much get it no matter what.

So....If they do Hothouse next, who thinks it would be an additional repaint of Ironworks, or instead a repaint of Airwave?

Airwave repaint, 100%, because Selects so far has only done 1 figure per mold (although if that Centurion droid Brunt repaint is real, that rule no longer matters), and Airwave conspicuously features tank treads on his legs that are unnecessary for a design based off the Airport base, but would be necessary for the Fire Station, which seems to hint that Hot House was kept in mind when that mold was designed.

I like that they're doing Exhaust, but that symbol is wierd. And the lack of purple is disappointing.

Always loved Greasepit. My favourite Micromaster base.

Why is a lack of purple disappointing? He never had any purple. Do you mean blue, since the MP and the Diaclone toy both had blue glazing?

...Not sure on your logic there.

Myself, I'm more interested in Exhaust than I was in the Wheeljack use of the mold.

I find it funny that the first figure to use the merc logo isn't one of the names thrown out there or revealed by the card game already  Just remains to be seen who the other mercs going to be. Can't have a faction of just one.

Technically that would be the faction-switching Doubledealer as well as the Quintessons and their minions.

Do they have the merc faction symbol on them though?

I don't know, but the 'merc' symbol is a stylized Quintesson face, no?

Real world mercs would wear their mercs companies symbols, fictational mercs would wear their companies symbols. Its the equivalent of a la street gang wearing a generic Tshirt that says gang rather than their gangs colors. Poor exhaust here is displaying generic badge but I guess it could be the same as holding up a for rent sign, maybe the next generic merc symbol wearing car can be called Rental.

So, at this point we have Hubcap, Exhaust, Greasepit, Dead Prime, Cyclonus, and Thrust, with possible hints at a new Soundwave, a rumored GI Joe crossover, hint at a Back to the Future crossover figure, and that Top Gun Maverick figure. Assuming Cyclonus might be part of that leaked 1986 Studio Series line due to the detail/lack of detail, and that we see more from that RED series, then we might get them all "revealed" for Fan First Friday, cause that'd be 6 lines with Studio Series, Earthrise, Crossovers, RED, and Prime Day, as well as officially revealing all of the leaks and rumors

I'm hoping for at least one reveal we haven't gotten leaked yet. I'm also hoping its one I'll like, too.

The MP seems to have purple to me. Maybe it looks different in real life?

Without it the toy looks really plain. Although I have to admit, I want it more for the history behind it more than the toy itself.

As for the symbol, there've been a couple of toys with one-off faction symbols. Although an actual non-Dcepticon mercenary faction would be pretty cool if they were consistent with it.
