Transformers Generations Selects Lancer Back in Stock at Hasbro Pulse

Finally got my in stock notice from BBTS for Lancer. What a frustrating ordeal it's been for me getting this figure. It's gonna be a good day when she shows up at my front door.

I called Fed Ex as soon as their customer service opened and they told me it was already on the truck back and there was nothing they could do about it. Since when was fed ex that efficient?

Then I called Hasbro Pulse's Customer Service, and they told me they could give me a refund, but since it was a limited pre-order they did not have any in stock to send to me. (Now what's dumb is that also means they apparently didn't get extras in case of damages)

When I asked about just turning it around and re sending it when they got it back, they said they weren't set up to do that. WTF

I actually am in charge of shipping at the company I work for. We've done that before here. It's not difficult.

How's that for frustrating?

Ack, that really sucks! Something similar happened to me a few months ago when Generations Selects Smokescreen started shipping out. It shipped out to my old address and I found out that hard way that Hasbro Pulse doesn't update your pre-orders when you change your address in your account. I was able to pick up my package from the old address before it was sent back, at least. I hope you get some sort of compensation if not complete satisfaction on this. I would complain again to a manager or something.

I got to open up my Star Convoy last night. I really like him a lot. The stickers went on easily, and they're all a LOT straighter than the factory applied ones from PotP Optimus Prime. That said, a lot of the other flaws of the original mold are still present, along with some new ones, though. The ankle joints are not quite strong enough to hold up the figure if it's not standing up straight and perfectly balanced. The gun pieces don't fit together quite snuggly enough, but it's not an issue, unless you're trying to put the silver chromed Matrix of Leadership in between them. So much for that new feature. The biggest issue, though, is the four pointed star crest in Star Convoy mode. It's very tricky to get that to peg in and stay, and it will still pop out if given anything more than a feather's touch. I tried the "Peuagh" trick of flipping around that red joint piece, and that helped marginally, but it hasn't solved the problem entirely, not by a long shot.

I liked the original PotP Optimus Prime figure, so I'm digging this retool as a Japanese continuity version of Optimus Prime that I've never had before. Compared to the original Star Convoy, this new one looks better proportioned. The resculpted details evoke the G1 toy very well. It's too bad that the chest windows weren't remolded, though. I think that would have completed the look. I don't even mind the red and blue plastic parts on the trailer, as those are also present in the G1 toy. I wish they had thrown in a Micromaster Hot Rod for good measure, but my Combiner Wars Legends Class Hot Rod will do for now, though an even smaller figure would scale that much better. I'm not too arsed about the lack of an official "base mode" for Star Convoy. I'm sure fans will come up with some inventive configurations to homage the original base mode of the G1 toy, but that looks ridiculous back then too. Whatever fans come up with on their own couldn't look any worse, lol!

All in all, I like this figure. It's not setting my world on fire, but it's not at all a disappointment. He'll look great on my "Japanese G1" shelf space, along side Dai Atlus and company, Super God Ginrai, and others.

I feel like a winner today because my Lancer finally showed up. While it may have been easy for some to pick her up my my journey was filled with failures.

I freaking love Lancer. I also love the mold and have all four limbs plus the Siege Chromia and Siege Nightbird versions. I just don't understand the detachable crotch piece on the Siege versions. Lance's colors really standout, this is a brightly colored combiner.

Lancer's colors are a little too sporty for me, like she's wearing a tracksuit to a tailgate party. I think Greenlight and her elf ears is my fave. Her alt mode deco is just so lovely.

I just need some Victorion hands & feet for Orthia. That'd be a Selects accessory pack I'd buy in a heartbeat. Why'd no one ever KO/3P'd those things?

According to Planet Iacon, the set is due for release in March 2020, and the price is set at ¥28, 050 (current exchange rate puts that at $257.69) this will get you all six members of the Seacon team and accessories.

thats about $25-$30 more then what they cost separately. Sadly I wasn't able to preorder the first set, so never bothered to preorder the others, banking on a combo set coming eventually. so this will probably be the route I end up going.

Me too, except the regular dual releases are already armed to the teeth with each one having at least 1 gun and a melee weapon that can combine into the combiner's sword. The hands and feet are new already, so I can't see them doing an even better set just for the box set. The only additional accessory I can think of that that wouldn't be pretty redundant in would be a stand for the limb bot who is pulling gun duty. Other than that, all I can think of is nicer packaging.

At least that is what I'm telling myself for now. If Pulse puts up a pre-oerder for the set, I may revisit my thinking.
