The Universe of the Transformers is vast, and populated by many characters. Their universe is a large tapestry, made up of the stories and points of view of countless experiences that serve the larger whole.

These are some of those stories. This is:

The stories are not official canon, except where noted. These stories are the result of Transformers enthusiasts taking the time out of their busy days to contribute to a universe they love. I like it. I particularly like any insights into any Dinobot that is not Grimlock. But no matter what way I look at the last panel, it looks to me like the epitaph says "Slut". :P

Now surely I'm reading that wrong and that's not his friend's name? Maybe it is Slux? Was he writing "Sludge" but didn't finish the "D" or the "GE".

I feel like I'm missing something obvious, but all I see is "Slut", which would have been amusing if Slag was the one who was writing it.

Enlighten me! :P

Edit: The head does look a bit more like Snarl than Sludge, I just assumed Sludge because I always got the feeling he was more likely to make friends (Snarl sounds like a jerk in his Tech Spec) and the fact that it mentions his friend was trampled, which is a word I associate with Sludge.

I both get and don't get this Mosaic at the same time. All I'm getting is that Slag (or Snarl?) had befriended some native on a distant planet, and while fighting Decepticons, she was killed in the heat of battle. What I don't get is if this planet was part of the Transformers mythos. And is "Slux", I believe it is, an actual TF character? :BANG_HEAD: #-o

That's all there is to it, I think. Except that the Dynobot is Sludge, based on the long ginberrel off his back like the bronto neck. This is likely Pre-Earth, since Grimmy and Sludge are in their Cybertronian tank modes.

Also, there seems to be a Marvel comics human he befreinded. Ithis ain't her, but this mosiac fits that pattern.

The more I see story lines that explore the Dinobots as actual characters instead of Weapons of Mass Destruction, the more I dislike their portrayal in the 80's cartoon. No surprise but they've always been my favorite subgroup and it's always good to see them get some character development beyond "Me Grimlock King!".

I think yall are over analyzing the Mosaic, its great, well written, well understood, whether who is the Dinobot or what he wrote on the epitaph is irrelevant, it got the point across in one page with no real questions to be asked. Awesome Mosaic. :KREMZEEK: :x :sad:

To clear up any misperceptions:

That Dinobot is Sludge, who has a tendency to want to befriend natives when he goes to alien worlds. Precedent was set for that in the Marvel UK comics. THe epitaph says "Sluj," the name of the alien girl, and in this story presumably where he got his name.

Klo was also the planet that the Autobots and Decepticons fought on in the last Marvel US comic.

Good as usual, I just have trouble knowing any of the DinoBots besides GrimLock without their Dino modes, their faces are so generic <_>
