Transformers Optimus Prime Pen Image

I love it! I'd like the pen mode to be more like a pen but the concept is so far out there that it's a must have.

Also. When you hit the link it sends you to their homepage where there is a sweet ass Dinobot Scorn looking figure but waaaaay better than Hasbro's. I want that figure.
I'm trying to find a good translate add on but none of them will translate their page. Any suggestions?

This must be a late April Fool's Day joke - it looks like crap. Robot mode is okay, but wow, they're really scraping the bottom of the barrel for ideas. The reason why they made this "pen" transform into Optimus is because the CEOs know there is a cult/religion out there that is dedicated to buying anything that is Optimus Prime.

Easy pass.

It took a moment to process what this is supposed to be, but after the initial guffaw I can say that as ridiculous as it is it does make a decent looking robot mode Optimus.

The pen is mightier than the sword!... cuz it's got a gun..
But that looks more like a prison shiv than a pen. It must be one of the most uncomfortable writing instrument ever made. Good looking bot mode though. Funny how they'll slap Optimus' head on anything to sell stuff.

That robot mode is in a similar pose to that which Revoltech Convoy is so often seen posed in:

i remember as a kid that knowing my obsession with anything transformers I'd receive lots of stuff emblazoned with the logo or something remotely connected. I even had gloves with galvatron on them, and shampoo bottles that were meant to be OP (and all i ever really wanted were the toys!)

i recall these little crappy plastic pens that would transform into some sort of robot, they were popular and were useless but nonetheless they were popular.

the robot mo isn't bad but he makes for a very uncomfortable looking pen. I'm waiting for musical instruments next.. it's the megatron harmonica vs the OP flute!

I'm guessing Takaras designers are bored silly twiddling their thumbs as Hasbro seem to be taking the lead in the design of the movie stuff (going by the official behind the scenes with the designers vids) so this is the random stuff they are doing.
I too would much rather see all the effort it takes to be put to something more worth the time and money, instead of something like this.

The concept is so ridiculous, it's awesome. Seriously, if this was to be released in the States, I'd totally but like five of them. Pens are my signature carry-around object, anyway.

It's interesting that these pens are being sold under the name "Convoy" instead of "Optimus Prime" since Takara adopted the Hasbro names for everything except Masterpiece and Encore these days.

I prefer "Convoy" where possible, Optimus Prime tends to be too much of a mouthful at times.

Missed opportunity for a Sentinel Prime version called Pentinel Prime.

I really dig the bot mode on this, but its a bit pricier than I had expected. Very cool looking though.

Forget the blurry prototype scans, here they are in glorious color! Optimus Prime, Nemesis Prime, AND Ultra Magnus. Ordered my set.

Thanks to site sponsor Hobby Link Japan we have new information and color images of the upcoming transforming Optimus Prime pen from Sentinel. The mold will come in all three obligatory Prime flavors: traditional, white, and evil black! The standard red and blue version is due out in September for 3980 Yen, followed by the Ultra Magnus and Nemesis Prime version in October for 3582 Yen and 3781 Yen respectively. Check out the images mirrored below.

Update from our friends at Hobby Link Japan, the Ultra Magnus version will be their own exclusive.

Naturally, Black Convoy looks the coolest of the three.

And I thought ordinary pens were uncomfortable to write with after an hour or so... This thing must be torture after ten minutes. Would anyone actually use this for writing?

I think they missed an opportunity here to make their ink colors different. They should have had black, blue and red ink respectively.

Now that you mention it, this sorta' reminds me of that expensive, transforming, metal Optimus Prime ring from about 10 years ago that no one could actually wear as a ring. Except, of course, that this Op looks awesome in robot mode.

And now a Magnus repaint...think Fansproject will create some upgrade armor for him that turns into a stapler?
