Transformers Power of the Primes Revision Wave Revealed with Case Contents

Is anyone out there still missing the wave 2 deluxes from Power of the Primes? Most specifically the Dinobots and the shortpacked figures like Moonracer? Because Hasbro sure remembers when everyone was asking for more and they won't stop until every single fan has a set. Case in point, the reveal of the first revision wave from Power of the Primes. A listing for this wave, specifically called Transformers Generations Power of the Primes Deluxe Wave 2 Revision 1, is now listed on Entertainment Earth. It contains an equal amount of deluxe Snarl, Sludge, Darkwing and Moonracer.

It is shipping out this December so these will be the POTP toys on shelves for the (late) holiday season, at retailer who may be wanting to stock more toys from the line. Of course with Slug also being available as part of wave 4, Hasbro also has solid cases of Swoop available for retailers to order so that all four Dinobots could be on shelves at the same time. This solid case is also shown on Entertainment Earth, along with another solid case of deluxe Dreadwind (to go with the abundance of Blackwing we are about to get). For those unaware, a solid case means a case full of just the same figure. So that means if you walk into the toy aisle and see a peg full of just Swoop, it is normal.

So what do you think of all this? Happy to see that Hasbro is listening and trying to rectify the year's biggest issue for Transformers fans? Is this overkill? Let us know!

1. The shoulder missassembling: I disassembled his left shoulder (robot mode), turned the shoulder 180 degress and screwed everything back together. But somehow it doesn't fit as it's supposed to be. In the image below you can see on the left that the upper gap of the joint is bigger than the lower one and on the right side they are both equal. I don't know what's the problem and I even had a gap on the other side of the joint because the two gray parts that encase the joint didn't meet togther until I just forced them by tightening the screw over its actual resistance maximum (I hopt that's the correct way to say that in English or you can at least get what I mean).

2. The taps on little Optimus Primal's insides of his knees: The horizontal ones peg into the big gorilla's heels but what do the vertical ones :???: I couldn't find any use for them in any mode.
3. What's pretty weird is that the orange plastic of the gorilla's is is a bit more reddish and neon colorish than the one of his torso. That doesn't make any sense to me.

Huh... That's really weird... My Optimal Optimus (the SDCC one, not the general release version. Haven't found that one yet) had a similar issue where the shoulder didn't go up enough, but unscrewing the shoulder and rotating it fixed it. I think maybe that could be a QC issue if that didn't fix it

You misunderstand me, then. By "square part" I meant the other end of the weapon, the end that would be the muzzle when it's held as a gun. I thought that would be clear because the hinge end where the common grip point is... That has too much of a rounded edge for me to really think of it as a square part ^^;

The suit's weapon mode is definitely as much a gun as it is a club. In fact due to the proportion of the parts it feels like more of a gun, but the kanabo detailing still lets it work fine as a club.
And Solus/Octupunch's weapon mode is also a gun. It's a speargun, specifically.

Oh I've tried that end, it's tapered and just big enough that I'd be concerned about stressing the peg hole. I thought Octopunch was an ax of some sort.

It fixed it but caused the problem you see in the picture now.
And after I posted this in here I noticed another issue you see in the next picture: the black plastic of the Optimus Primal figure is very brittle :-x :BOOM: :-(

I was in a Walmart in Ancaster, Ontario the other day, and the shelf was LOADED with exactly those four figures. You may not have to wait until December to find them.

*shrug* I haven't had issues so far using that end, though granted I haven't had the toy very long.

And Octopunch's weapon mode is decidedly a speargun. The spear tip and launcher detail are easy to make out in person. I thought it was some sort of axe at first too, but I realized otherwise once I actually got my hands on it.

Thanks to Seibertronian ScottimusPrime, we have a brand new review from the titled Seibertronian of the soon to be in everyone's hands Power of the Primes Punch/Counterpunch! The figure, which has begun to ship out to many Seibertronians and is set to arrive as early as tomorrow (Sunday 9/15) for some, is a brand new update to the old double spy, and includes Prima Prime and a Power of the Primes Prime Armor piece. The figure transforms between 2 robot modes, one for each named character, and a sweet looking blue car.

Check out the review below, and let us know when you get your Punch/Counterpunch, and what you think of this awesome surprise of a figure!

Status still says "Ordered" on mine with an expected delivery date of Sep 21-24. So I doubt I'll get mine tomorrow. :(

Amazon hasn't even charged me for my two figures yet... I'm hoping they do soon so I at least know that I'm getting them instead of waiting for a few months, like the last time I bought something on Amazon, where it got "lost in the mail" meanwhile they gave us the wrong tracking number for it

My Punch-Counterpunch arrived in the mail earlier this morning, but I had to leave for work shortly after and only got back home a while ago, so I haven't opened mine yet.

My P/CP shipped today, so it will get to me Tuesday. I can't wait!

As for the issues with OpOp, I had the shoulder issue on mine. So far, no issues with the plastic (so far... :???: ). I can't get the pegs on the big gorilla feet to attach to the back of the small robot's vehicle mode for the jet. I must be doing something wrong.

I preordered Repugnus and Punch about two months ago, but of course since I chose free shipping, they'll be shipped together. I'm a bit nervous though since Punch is now out of stock and my order still hasn't shipped.

Forget about what I said earlier about the hurricane. After talking with customer service it looks like they oversold P/CP and are scrounging around trying to find figures. You have no idea how pissed I am.

Oh, seriously... God dammit... Is that why they haven't charged me yet? Because they don't have the stock to even ship their pre-orders? That's bogus. What was the point of pre-ordering the damn thing if Amazon couldn't even fulfill their orders?! :BOOM:

ok, I’m sorry, but that review of Punch/Counter Punch was hella annoying. Recently, more and more toy reviews are trying to be cute. Come on guys, you’re reviewing a toy. I really don’t care what you look like or if you’re happy or not when getting the Amazon packets. If you’re gonna review the toy, show me the toy. Hold it in a way we can see the toy, put it down, take good videos of it. Snapshots, whatever. If the video have you more than the toy, you’re not reviewing the toy. You’re marketing yourself. Ok, sorry. Got it off my chest.

Btw. Still waiting for mine.

Did they completely oversell, or is this a case of they can't fill the preorders with the initial Shipment, like they did with Nemesis Prime?

I guess that's the only issue I don't have
Idk...do you use the ankle pivots?

Don’t know if it’s been posted yet, but HTS has Cutthroat and Blot listed now. They aren’t in stock yet, but at least they’re listed, which is new.

I think if Amazon oversold figures it isn't entirely their fault. I don't think they expected a lot of people to buy two copies of one figure, but they still should have had more stock.

Regardless of that, they still should have cut pre-orders when they did run out of stock. No matter how you slice it, it's still Amazon's fault. They know how much they're getting, and they can see how many someone is buying
