Okay, 2 reasons why it's going to be a long week:
FoC is coming out in 7 days,
AND this episode is coming out, and we see what happens to bulk, jacky and miko

That just furthers my point. They create an interesting character with a backstory and began to expand upon him for a little bit, then he gets ignored, and then they kill him off.buddhaquest wrote:Sabrblade wrote:This just reaffirms that this show has no guts.![]()

I agree with you there Saberblade. I've loved TF Prime as a series so far, but I've felt there are many characters that are stuck in a rut. Be it Arcee, who quickly went from interesting in the first season, to a predictable loose canon in the second, or Breakdown, who was looking to be a complex Decepticon, maybe even calling in question of his allegiance in the future, and they take him out without even having it tie into him and Bulkheads rivalry.
I can't say I wanted Bulkhead to die, and the character is one of the better ones (I'd hate to be stuck with just Ratchet as the last interesting Autobot) but still, I'd like to see more depth. Get some of these characters out of this rut of storytelling.
And kill of Rafe. I can't tell you how much I hate Rafe.

If they kill him off, it would create a sense of emotional shock among the Autobots and shift the show into a new status quo. BUT, at the same time, it would also just further erase the interesting backstory he and Breakdown shared with their rivalry that show had been building upon ever since Breakdown showed up, and then completely dropped after Breakdown got canned.
And with the other way of keeping him alive, it would keep the possibility of exploring said backstory alive and open, BUT it would also keep the show at its exact same status quo it's had for the majority of its run and would rob the show of the opportunity of having a dramatic game changer for the Autobots to forward their development as a whole.
Stalemate.
Best they could do is to at least have Bulkhead gain a permanent handicap from this experience so as to have both a shift in the status quo with a shock drama moment for the 'Bots, and them still be able to visit his backstory.

Why, oh why did James Roberts mentioning a More than Meets the Eye cartoon for 2013 have to be a joke?
Prime is just dull, which is one of the worst things you can say about any example of media. The Autobots themselves aren't great, and the most interesting Decepticons got little screentime. The humans are friggin' annoying.
As for not killing off Bulkhead, I'm not surprised. Prime doesn't really take many chances, it only appears that they do. Breakdown, Skyquake, and Cliffjumper were all minor characters.
It makes the most sense for Bulkhead to be threatened, as he's the least developed character next to Bumblebee, who's practically mute. He's also the only character on the cast without a G1 analogue, and he just feels non-essential. Arcee's the token girl, Prime's the leader, Ratchet's plot exposition, and Bumblebee's the kid appeal character.

Breakdown was a major character in the series. He was the one of the 7 main cast Decepticons in Prime. So what are you talking about "minor character?"
Bulkhead is not the only character on the cast without a G1 analogue. Sure, he's the only Autobot, but Knock Out & Airachnid join him there as well. Let us not forget Vehicons did not exist in G1 either.
Well, I put all of that in spoiler because I didn't want to break the hidden text he created.

Bulkhead is the only member of the autobot cast who has no G1 analogue, is what I said, hence why I was describing the other autobots.
As for poor breakdown, he'd been getting less and less screentime by the time he got killed off.
And though it doesn't matter much, I'm female, not male.

No, that is not what you said. You said he was the only character on the cast, not the Autobot cast.
Even if Breakdown got less and less screen time, which he did, he was still considered part of the main cast, regardless of that fact.
Apologies for the gender mix-up. That avatar is confusing.

Hey, hey. People can watch a series or cartoon and dislike a character. It does not mean they have to stop watching the show. I hate Miko, Airachnid, Bulkhead, and Arcee's constant revenge plot, but that doesn't mean I hate the show.
Bulkhead's my least favorite character and I was hoping he was going to die this episode.

The only Decepticons who we can really call "main characters" are Megatron and Starscream Though, the latter is just barely holding onto that position since he started appearing much less often than he used to, and the former only really gained that title after becoming a full-timer when he woke up.
Knock Out's real close to joining the ranks of the main cast members, while Soundwave consistently remains in the background as a secondary. Dreadwing's also a secondary, but only because of how new he is and how little he's appeared compared to the others.
Airachnid started as a guest star, then took on a more pivotal role in which she grew to feel more like a main character, only to fall back into secondary member territory and then get reduced to "minor character" status by being taken out for a good while.
No need to bring up guest stars like Skyquake, Makeshift, the Warship, or Hardshell (though, the latter may potentially become a minor, or even a secondary character if he's lucky enough).
What we got:

Hi. Would this help as a source?
There, it states that (although Cliffjumper being a Main Cast member is total crap
) Daran Norris & Adam Baldwin are part of the Main Cast of Prime, voicing their characters of Knock Out and Breakdown.
And even if he was a Secondary Character in recent episodes before he died, you cannot put him in the exact same bin as Makeshift and Skyquake.
No, I can't tell how you're joking when you don't seem to speak in complete sentences, not to mention you had no icon or exclamation indicating you were joking.
"u mad?" Are you kidding me? Are you trying to be a troll? If so, please stop. We don't like trolls here.
