I agree, but for whatever reason that's the horse Hasbro is backing right now. They've given them the Ectotron exclusive and in Canada they've become their default store for exclusives to stores that don't exist in Canada.

So Chromia is fun-er in person. Definitely an improvement over the Combiner Wars/PotP mold. May have to dig out her T30 to compare that.

I'm liking the way those fire blast effects from Firedrive look on Chromia's back thrusters in alt mode. Have you tried experimenting with her transformation yet to find a suitable "big gun" mode for a combiner like Elita Infin1te/Orthia to hold?

It is tough to tell if he has waist articulation or not. All of the Hasbro digital renders have him mistranformed. An you're right. I mistook the crotch area for the nose of the jet but now I've looked closer at the stock photos of the bot and jet it looks like it's a different more detailed piece compared to the blank area of the nose and that waist articulation could indeed be possible. That seems quite clever improving on the functionality of the G1 design while still looking very similar.

As a bonus, someone else posted a photo from Toyfair confirming the waist swivel.

This line has grown on me and really ended up impressing me far more than I expected it to.

That being said, I cannot see it as anything other than a soft reboot of Classics/Generations. Everything has a consistent design and also seems subject to a 0.75x multiplier on the height/size of deluxe and voyager figures.

I feel like some figures from Siege kind of have the option of floating up or into the older Generations territory. Skytread, Cog, Brunt, Reflector...but the more mainline characters are dwarfed by older incarnations or characters who they should otherwise be paired with.

All of this is cool btw. Not being critical at all. I'm an adamant Generations collector and honest reflection on the line and scope says that it's pretty much drawn itself to a close.

I also think that there are some interesting releases from the past few years that are somehow forwards compatible with Siege. PotP Dinos, for instance, were definitely too small to be paired with other traditional Generations displays...but they scale damn well to Siege.

Honestly, after so many years, I think it was kind of just difficult to come to terms with starting a whole new Generations style display. But with a lot of thought into it, there's a lot of fun ahead.

I have not yet, but nothing really jumped out at me during transformation

Simulacrum Blaster - so it's like a blaster? It blasts likenesses?

Stethoscopic Detector - looks like a rifle to me, so what is it detecting?

Magnetic Inducer Launcher - ok a fancy way of launching rockets - cool!

I love that Siege names all the weapons and outside of these silly names, they are a lot of fun. Magnus's weapons are very customizable.

I agree some of the names are weird. Soundwave’s are weird too.

Back to Magnus. I’m on the fence if I like the black guns... they feel off.... attached to the silver gun. And using them by themselves they feel way too tall. They do make good leg armor/flip guns though.

Not a bad stand-in for less than half the price
