Transformers SIEGE Micromasters Off Road Patrol available at Amazon and sighted at US retail

Grabbed my Off Road Patrol at Amazon. I remember someone in the forum mentioning them being on Amazon, but I couldn't find the post later and couldn't find them searching Amazon so I'm glad these turned up in the news. I also picked up Soundwave, I've only seen him in stores twice when he first came out and haven't seen him since in stores. Prices online (when you can find one) haven't been good so it was nice to see Amazon finally selling them for MSRP.

I do wonder what's going on with Amazon's prices. Not the Amazon sellers, but actual Amazon. They're usually really good about keeping prices at MSRP, but they've been selling Soundwave at $32.99 for the longest time and they've never had Sideswipe for less than $24.53 for no real reason.

And I really have to wonder what Hasbro is thinking only putting Soundwave in one wave even though there are more tapes coming. So far Soundwave and Apeface (for obvious reasons) are the only ones in only one wave so maybe they'll get a revision wave after wave 4?

No, this in reference to one of Skyfire's jet effects.

Oh. My bad. Somebody was talking about crooked antennas over there...

To that end, though, my blast effects weren't crooked. My BOX was a bit mashed, but the blast effects were fine.

MP-44 hasn't arrived yet, but if the antennas come defective I don't think I will try to fix them myself. It's too precious a piece, Takara or Amazon will have to make it right.


Skyfire is so awesome, I don't understand the light-piping though. He's got a backpack behind his head, better they had painted them.
And since he's kind of made like a Masterpiece I would have liked a smiling face plate, too.

I THINK they were hoping the clear panel in his forehead would allow light intovthe head, but that didnt work. They needed to do what thwy did woth Shockwave and put it on top of his noggin.

Shockwave's is the only light-piping I like, really. It's almost as though he's got an actual light-bulb in his head.

Honestly, I hadn't noticed. I've just been having him blast Megatron over and over with his double-barrelled Particle Beam Cannon (not whatever idiotic name is on the instruction sheet).

I could have gone for extra faces. He did tend to smile or crack jokes a lot on the show, so yeah...I could see that.

My only beef is my Skyfire’s faceplate won’t stay on. The spring won’t stay it just pops it back off. God I want to take him back for like this one reason but I’ve always loved just sticking with the one I got I’m sentimental like that.

If I don’t love this poor Jetfire who will? and it’s like sonic welded too I can’t unscrew it and fix it I’m left resorting to a clear rubber band. Can’t really notice it but of course I do. It’s like a Rambo vibe. At least it’s not totally broken.

Everything else is so much win. Yes it’s expensive but you definitely get what you pay for. Absolutely. It’s totally an MP Skyfire to me.

With Ratchet being out in Canada, I figured I could take some images to show just how different this mold is from Ironhide. The retool connotation has been outdated for ages now and the advent of computer aided drawing meansthe actual mold doesn't need to be retouched to give something new. You can some parts at the design level and then mix and match the existing and new molding. Which is why while Ratchet may look similar to Ironhide at first glance, the amount of new parts outweighs the amount of parts shared with Ironhide (which is mainly the chest, feet and back of the legs).

Below you will see the difference in parts for Ratchet's head, shoudlers, chasis, wheels, pelvis, vehicle "grill", front of legs (inner molded detail is different as well), hands and forearms. The later are asymetric since one of his forearms has four extra tools molded in as detail for the medeical bay mode.

If my Walmart would bother stocking Transformers, maybe I'd be able to get a Ratchet too.

Picked this up in Lincoln, Nebraska a little over a week ago. Gotten all the new stuff here except for Battlemasters - Still on Wave 1 of that.

Also, all of our Galaxy Primes disappeared overnight. We HAD a bunch of them. Now they're just gone. And right before Target canceled my (5x delayed) preorder.

Back 35 years ago Ironhide and Ratchet were two I dreamed of having with the sled/bay and the chrome I thought they were so awesome but I never got them. Time to rectify

Pretty stoked to see that my favorite Autobot isn’t just a straight redeco. I honestly would have still bought him on sight, even if he were, but this is so much better. The new sculpting is enough to differentiate him from Ironhide, while still looking like his moldmate.

Here’s hoping he pops up at my Walgreens.

makes me wish crosshairs was a mix n match of both molds to create something more unique instead of being jus ironhide

I love this Ironhide. I have to do my Ironhide impression every time I look at him...every time I look into a monitor Prime my circuits sizzle...

He looks cool with every gun in the line too and he’s huge. So much awesome.

So, Ratchet is a EB Games exclusive. GOOD! Because now I have my chances.

That's pretty cool, the difference would really stand out with custom paint jobs highlighting the different mold details.

I have Mirage on pre-order and am in the same boat. Pre-orders were open on both figures as of just before midnight last night and then changed to temporarily out of stock. My Mirage order (skipping Impactor for the fan vote 3 pack) still says arriving Sept 5th, by 8:00, but hasn't shipped yet.

No shipping confirmation for me either. But no change in delivery date. Still Sept 5th estimated delivery.

You know, I love TF video reviews. I even watch them for bots I already own you never know maybe you missed a step or two.

But I’ve seen a couple for Jetfire that I’m not tons happy with. This is going to sound more snobby than it’s intended but sometimes there is value in reading the instructions.

Despite some flaws mine has the jet mode holds together when pegged together properly the exhausts don’t hang there.

And the backpack holds two additional Titan/Prime masters which I don’t see getting pointed out.

Just thought I’d point out those bits and reiterate it’s a great well designed toy it’s a melding of MP and Generations mentalities that has to be the current cherry of the Siege line.

I don't know how intentional that extra storage in the backpack is, it's really hard to get my fingers in there. Also I've heard that in some countries it's not the style to read instructions first.

I try to transform mine without the instructions every time but for a reviewer to proudly tout they don’t even read the instructions and mention one or more times they don’t get a certain part of the toy, I don’t know I figure hey, cover all angles before putting something out there do some research it never hurts only helps. Ah that’s just my modo it was just something I noticed.

I transformed mine without instructions first. Even then I figured out how to properly plug in the legs and thrusters.

Then I saw a video that pointed me the hidden Titan Masters features and the waist swivel of the bot.

I definitely think that extra storage has got to be intentional, as not only is there a windscreen for Titan/Prime Masters to look through in the backpack, but there are also two bespoke spots to put them in, including with grooves for the back-of-legs tab to plug in to keep them seated. I agree that it's definitely nowhere near as accessible as it should be, though.

The backpack holding Titan Masters isn't actually in the instructions. I don't think even the nose cockpit is.

If, like me, you are intent on purchasing him at Walmart, another way is to get it and put it on layaway. I doubt Walmart itself will have a Black Friday sale on Siege Jetfire, since probably only a few stores will have it, and they seem to sell really fast. I'm sure both Amazon & Pulse (and maybe some other online retailers) will have it on sale, but just finding Jetfire at a B&M store was a small miracle for US residents, I'm sure they'll all sell quickly, but online they seem to be plentiful. I was fortunate to have the funds at the time i found him, otherwise it definitely would have been layaway for me. (which walmart happens to only offer this time of year)

In relation to the people not reading instructions, part of it I feel is some level of cockiness after the Prime Wars trilogy being a lot easier conversions. Some reviewers (not all) just wing it without bothering to look to see if they're missing anything, like some reviewers not seeing Prime's trailer hitch in truck mode because they didn't notice the panels to unfold. A lot of the transformations are more involved now and some reviewers that are just trying to get the review out first don't really take the time to understand the figure before posting. Though with the one guy getting the figures straight from the factory definitely removes some incentive to be the first to review because they've already been beaten to the punch before the figure's announcement

Now back to your regular Siege programming.

Refraktor camera mode is my new Cybertronian battlefield ordinance. Scales perfectly with the other bots and it’s easy to imagine a camera is just being a big canon.

In this case I believe it is because the packaging lacks french, and Quebec requires it.

Seriously, even if I could, the super high shipping costs, taxes anyway, and the exchange rate give us a pretty bloody raw deal.
