Greetings Seibertronians!

Transformers Studio Series Core Class Shockwave (from the Bumblebee movie) has been on store shelves for a little while now. Maybe you've seen him and been undecided on picking it up, well if that's the case, these video reviews from some fellow Seibertronians!

First up is Ham-Man:

Next, we have Soundwave8084, who chimes in with his review of the tiny tactician.

Lastly, we have Chuckdawg1999, who offers his thoughts in writing and on video:

chuckdawg1999 wrote:The introduction of the Core Class to the Studio Series opens up the line to smaller-scale characters from the live-action movies like Wheelie and Brains. Of course, the first figure released is Shockwave. Don't forget, Core Class is also meant to be a cheaper price point to get named characters into people's hands. Shockwave is a cool figure, the transformation is fairly easy but as is the case when dealing with ball joints, the tightness of the joints can be a factor in how enjoyable the transformation is. Overall, Shockwave is a good figure and while I believe we will see a larger version at some point, this Core Class version can hold you over for the time being.

Do you have Shockwave? Has any of these reviews swayed you towards picking him up?

The Studio Seires wave including 86 Perceptor, BB movie Brawn, BB movie Ratchet and BB movie Wheeljack has been found in the UK. It's technically wave 15 of Studio Series deluxes but Hasbro also sees it as 2022's first wave. The leader wave with 86 Stascream was also found. In other UK sightings news, the final wave of Kingdom voyagers, which includes Blaster, was also found. All these sightings were at various Smyths stores. These sightings were first reported here.

That Perceptor is purty. I'm undecided on Ratchet, leaning towards purchase.

So new Lego Rumors are saying that we will be getting a Optimus Prime set! It is said to come with a jetpack so fingers crossed it is a DotM version! It can also transform without being taken apart! If this rumor comes true, it is going to be epic and fulfill so many hopes and dreams of mine. Honestly, it could even be G1 and I would still buy it in a heartbeat.

I'm hopeful we'll see Ratchet, Brawn, and Wheeljack soon. I am excited to get those 3, specifically Brawn.

Entertainment Earth was sending some of them out already.

We now have in hand images of two of the upcoming deluxes in the second wave of 2022 deluxe toys for the Studio Series line, Bumblebee movie Arcee and Ironhide. These in hand images show us that the only thing new with Ironhide is the head, as assumed. We get nice close ups of Arcee as well and a good look at her back, which is a thing of concern to fans. These images are taken from reviews done by Chefatron.

Enjoy!

Is it just me or does anyone else find it disturbing that Ironhide looks like he's wearing hot pants and a man-kini over them?

Arcee looks great.

I feel the opposite, I think the face looks way better now that we're seeing it close up. I love all the details and the way the eyes look, she looks less like a marionette now.

Replace from where?
In a G1 display, she would look off. But in a general display, why not?

Personally, this Arcee won't replace anyone. She'll just enter my Arcee Harem! ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

I never had a G1-styled-Arcee before,so this this toy has picked my interest.
Ironhide looks cool, buying him will make want buy Ratchet as well.

Day 784 of waiting for Transformers Armada Masterpiece news.

I was pretty sure I was gonna pass on Arcee and this just reaffirms that. Those black parts ruin the deco for me, just like the T30 did. I'm very happy with ER Arcee, so she stays. $24 saved.

Ratchet and Ironhide look pretty good, even if they're a bit short and stocky.

Arcee desperately needs some blue paint on the eyes. Other than that I think she looks great.

There is one thing I really don't like about that Ironhide Hide and ratchet and it's how they handled the shoulders. These toys are said to start with mirroring the robot mode seen in the film and then going from there for the alt mode but those shoulders are not like in the film. In the film, the grey part is not the whole shoulder, just a decorative strip at the top. So I thought maybe it had to be bigger to go with the alt mode but in the alt mode, those panels just stick out and don't integrate with the rest of the vehicle to form a nice outline (I have Ratchet as an example below). The design of the toys show that they planned to make those shoulder panels be more in line with the vehicle's outline but the toy doesn't have that. So you end up with inaccurate shoulders that look weird in robot mode and that serve nothing for in alt mode.

Yeah, but in order to make those shoulder panels integrate better into the alt mode concept art they had to cheat. The concept art makes the shoulder panels much larger than would be possible from the movie CG and that would have meant them being even bigger in bot mode. What they did was try to find the sweet spot in between and I think they did a good job working it out. Only alternative would have been to use fake parts.

Well then I would have preferred they just make them smaller then and more like the 3D model. At least then 1 of the two modes would look really good.

It's pretty standard fare that the CGI model cannot perfectly match the toy. Especially with the live action movie lines.
Best example is in AoE where the filmmakers didn't even bother to figure out how the hell can this:

transform into this:

I almost raged when I saw this crap on the silver screen way back then:

Unique Toys did what the initial designers couldn't. Making AoE Galvatron properly transform.
Seriously.
Granted, it's MP sized and is nearly 300$ but still, a 3P company figured it out:

Now the real question is. Will Hasbro / Takara figure out the transformation as a voyager with the budget that go with it without a "folding table" as a backpack like the original? We know it's in the work and is relatively soon to be revealed. Will they succeed?
