Takara Tomy held a special T-Spark Zone 2025 event this week, revealing a number of upcoming releases that have been previously teased.

The biggest of the reveals is Adamas Machina AMT-2 Predaking. Things are still early, only revealing a gray model and photos, but what we can see is interesting. It's hard to gauge size, but it is next to AMT-1 Rodimus who stands at 9 inches so he may be in that new standard 12 inch range. It appears we're going for a classic "Deluxe and Voyager" type setup rather than trying to keep all of the members at the same general height. It's an interesting take for sure. Side note, a clear Rodimus was shown, but that was likely just to show off the die cast content.

Then we've got our first look at Missing Link Arcee! We were teased previously by Takara Tomy asking if fans were interested in seeing her get made and the reaction must have been positive because here she is. The placard next to her specifically points out this is the prototype version so perhaps a pink movie version is also in our future.

Then there's our first ever actual Macross crossover with Macross 7 Basara Prime. Basara is a Japanese word that, in the case of the anime, means "acting without restraint, self indulgence", but it's also the name of the main character, Basara Nekki, properly fitting for a rock star. So yes, if you were sure we were getting another Prime as a crossover from Takara Tomy, pat yourself on the back. Once again we're treated to a gray model, but we can at least confirm the alt mode is based on the VF-19 "Fire" Valkyrie so expect a very orange Prime this time. Most importantly he has a guitar!

Finally we've got the no so surprising Nucleon Quest Super Convoy repaint of the recently released MPG Super Ginrai. Not much to say here, it sure does look cool, though!

None of these new figures have release info or prices, but Nucleon Quest Super Convoy and Missing Link Arcee will likely go up for pre-order soon enough.

At first I was disappointed by no Jetfire and yet another Prime, but I have to say, that guitar really sells it. I really need to watch Macross again. It's been ages.

Arcee ... that face. Geez. Still tempting. I hope we see other Arcees with this color scheme, though. I'll pretend they're other characters.

Predaking looks great, but probably too rich for my blood.

Metal Valkyrie Prime looks pretty cool. Wonder how expensive it will be.

Interestingly, I just noticed Prime is using Last Knight Megatron's Wing / Leg transformation so it does not get a wing pack like a traditional Valkyrie.

Wasn't in the market for the Valkyrie Prime until I saw that guitar, and now I pretty much need it.

Arcee, on the other hand, was always an instant pick-up. I would have no issue getting both colour schemes, either.

Still awaiting that Rodimus. I am content with POTP Predaking, but my brother might get this one for his collection, so I may still get to experience it.

With the next Haslab on the Horizon, 2025 is off to a great but expensive start!

Predaking is awesome but what in the name of Temu are they thinking with that Arcee? I realize that was a proposed figure back in the day, but it was killed off for a reason. It needs to stay dead.

People sick of getting yet another OP can just consider this TF x Macross7 crossover as Starscream instead.

This figure rocks and pulling my heart strings pretty hard. Hope I can afford it.

I watched the OG Macross & Frontier and nothing in between or after, but the Valkyries have alway been cool in every series (unlike Gundam).

As for nostalgia factor, it's finally an Arcee in the same aesthetic as the rest of the 86 movie toys, we haven't had that yet. She's a missing link in more ways than one, she'll look great on your vintage shelf or a Missing Link collection.

I had a thought today about maybe using VW Bee for Herbie, Being that Hasbro already has a close relationship with Disney it probably wouldn't be too difficult to do.

I wonder how Hasbro even approaches ideas on what characters to base them on, do they go to the licensor first or does the company that holds it IP come to them?

I think it's most likely Hasbro doing the scouring of the properties to do the crossovers - it is a Hasbro line of TF figures afterall - but for those that have "anniversary synergies" it could be the other way around.

But the Hasbro x Mattel is a much deeper collaboration though. The all die-cast limited edition HW OP is done by the Hot Wheels team, not Hasbro. And there will be other IP corssing over with Mattel, not limited to just TF & HW.

Hold on wait a minute... I see they just walked over speaking about the SS Devastator, but are those independent fingers i see? That looks WAY better than what I've been seeing. Those are not the blocky hands we are used to.

Not gonna complain except that it's always him. I'm just thrilled to see these crossovers...they are just fun. That Zoids one...no idea where that came from but I love it. Has a Diaclone reboot feel to it (yes, I know it's technically a TF/Diaclone/Zoids crossover, but you could argue that Diaclone is more Zoids than Zoids are).

Frankly the thing I'm most excited for is the new MPG Load Hauler. I have a very soft spot for these obscure characters, even though normally I collect only Decepticons, I'll make (yet another) exception for him. Cordon and Burn Out are feeling lonely lately...

So how are we feeling about Macross 7 Basara Prime? I'm really digging him, I think I'm going to call him Basara Rodimus Prime since he's more Rodimus than Optimus which appears to be entirely intentional, probably why he isn't called Basara Optimus Prime this time.

I got the Monster Hunter Optimus Prime.

He comes in a HUGE box.
I thought at first it was a waste, but the figure itself is sizeable. He's packed in dragon mode.

God fukking dammit, auto-focus...

Comparing to his moldmates, this dragon have about the same wingspan as the others, but his body is more massive.

The Matrix store inside the "belly" of the beast.

The bot mode looks like a demonic knight. I will skip the "Magnus" version, but I'd be a sucker for a possible Nemesis version.

The shield and the sword can combine into a massive mace. I forgot to add the side-skirts to the weapon.

Optimus is a wee bit taller than Airrazor and Filtch.

Overall, The retooling and the added mass has promoted him to a solid voyager-ish class. For the overall price of a leader, he's expensive, but very much worth it. He feels solid in hand and he's fun to fiddle with.
