SEIBERTRON.com has been contacted by Jezz Vernon of Metrodome regarding the upcoming UK DVD release of Super God Masterforce. This is course the second japanese Transformers series which aired in 1988, after the original cartoon had stopped in America.
Metrodome still has to make their official public announcement about the DVD release and are still trying to finalise some loose ends before sending out their official press release. The following statements, taken from the E-mail send to us, is what is definate so far.
"Super God Masterforce will be a 5 disc boxset released on April 24th with cover artwork by Nick Roche, it'll be priced at RRP £34.99 but obviously play.com and amazon will be discounting the price.
Chris McFeely will be writing the booklet that accompanies it and we hope to get Chris into a studio to do another audio commentary.
We've installed a completely different process for subtitles - this time they've been translated by fan and fluent Japanese speaker Jordan Derber. Chris is then checking the scripts before they're being sent to our authoring company.
Chris is then QC'ing the check discs himself for errors. So touch wood the subs should be perfect. We've certainly responded to the criticisms of Headmasters and really done things differently this time round."
