CatSCAN

Profile: CatSCAN may perhaps be one of the most unique individuals ever to have been called "Cybertronian." A peculiar mutaution of his protean race, CatSCAN's creation resulted in the bizzare combination of Apelinq's matter transer abilities and the artifical intelligence of an antiquated medical diagnositc computer. As such, CatSCAN's fearsome appearance belies an inherently gentle and nonviolent personality - it is simply not in his programming to cause harm to other beings. Lacking a Spark of his own, CatSCAN's deepest wish is to understand the true nature of his self-awareness. he looks up to Apelinq as a mentor and "creator figure", and by his sheer naivety is frequently seen as the moral canvas by which his fellow teammates judge their own actions. Behaving much in the same way as a young child might if given the size, speed and power of a champion althlete, CatSCAN is continually amazed not only by the "interesting" world around him, but by his own untested skills.

Abilities: In both robot and beast forms, CatSCAN is exceptionally quick and agile, possessing a combination of feline grace and jet-powered intensity that bespeaks his physical appearance. In beast mode, CatSCAN is capable of traversing level terrain at over 725 kilometers per mega-cycle in limited bursts, making him an exceptional reconnaissance agent. In robot mode, he is armed with dual electron-scimitars of ancient Cybertronian design witha tail-mounted plasma torch, which he is capable of employing as either a precise surgical tool or a deadly defensive weapon.

Weaknesses: CatSCAN's most ovious weakness lies in his inability to think spontaneously or to act beyond the limitations of his original programming. While the artifical intelligence upon which his mind is based allows him to grow and adapt to new situatiosn, he is often unable to do so unless those situations are especially hazardous or are classifed as a threat to his internal systems.
