As the title asks, has anyone else noticed that the prices for Transformers Animated Deluxes at Toys R Us have two different prices?

I was there last weekend, trying to take advantage of the 2 for $15 sale they had. i found, as always, the shelf warming Cybertronian Ratchet at $11.99, the cap off point for the promotion. On another peg, I found 2 Transformers Animated Rodimus and Ironhide, however, they were both priced at $14.99. Unfortunately, because of their prices, I was unable to take advantage of the sale.

Considering that both sets of Animated figs are Toys R Us exclusives and both are of the same size class, why are are the latter two sold at higher price point?

Considering the situation, it would've been nice to have found TFA Arcee. I've never even seen her in at retail.

It is weird but I think TRU just decided to raise the price with Rodimus and Ironhide because they can. Maybe it has to do with them most likely being the last Animated figures release by Hasbro. Who knows?

What also sucks is that they raised the price of Voyagers to $24.99. They're still around $21.99 everywhere else.

TRU has always been more pricey than other stores along with K-mart.

Because Ratchet is older. His wave which included Arcee was released months before Rodimus and Ironhide so its stands to reason that the left over's of that wave are now in clearance hence cheaper than the significantly newer Rodimus and Ironhide wave.

I don't remember Arcee and Ratchet being more than $12.99 when they were released.

Yeah, I was surprised when, the other day, I looked at my TRU receipt and saw $14.99 for TFA Rodimus. I was gonna go back in and question it, but it was a friggin' mob scene in there. NOT worth $2.

Yeah, Roddy and Ironhide are $14.99 instead of $12.99. Same online and in stores.

I think that's a consequence of one of the sales they had: Any figure $5.99-$12.99 is Buy One, Get One 1/2 off. The animated figures were exclusive, so excluded by bumping up the price as a precaution from arguing customers.
The resident Rewind... well, half of one

Well, here is a real kick in the nuts for you. I was in there when they had a "buy one get one half off" sale on "all transformers". That's what the email said. My brother collects Ironhide figures. So I grabbed him Movie Deluxe and the Animated Deluxe. These were both marked at $12.99. When I got up to the counter the full price for both came up. I showed the girl at the register the ad in the book that was sitting there, then I had to show her the email on my phone. Then she had to go get her manager. Then I had to go through the whole thing again with him. Finally they ended up punching in a code to let me get the advertised price. The whole thing took almost a half-hour. Ugh.

Usually TRU is pretty good about that stuff. I have noticed, recently, that they can't seem to keep their sales and price straight with the computer.
