I was hoping that some of the Go-bots I have would have been on that list, but alas no.
I've been trying to find some info on Go-bots as I've no idea about names etc. I don't know what any of mine are called, so even a list of names with pics would be a massive help.

This should help and you can use this to ID unknown figures.

Re: 20 Gobots That Remind Us Why the Gobots Sucked So Incredibly Hard
A fifth of the list is Wendy's Kid's meal figures(and I LIKE Breeze). They look better than the Transformers McDonald's premium's of the time, and at least they convert.
Bubble Blower was meant to be a cheap accessory item, like an Optimus Prime Toothbrush.
Bugbite and Stacks have good amounts of diecast and good vehicle modes, but the quality of the robot modes is left to the individual. I'm not overly fond of them but don't hate 'em.
Rogun(Cap Pistol) has sentimental value as he was a favorite of mine when I was younger, and I never had the Water Gun. Still, they are gimmick based, and would stand a test of time as fun toys.
Clutch looks good, on par with a Transformer in my opinion. Who knows, maybe he was the inspiration for Armada Red Alert.
Revolt and Traitor(Dread Launchers) do have some lame "transport halves", but I like the bug and bird alts, and the robot modes look very cool(wish I had 'em).
Rock Lords are...rock lords. I think the two chosen look ok, but are nothing too special. They aren't terrible action figures.
Zero and Bolt have good plane modes, but they're robot modes are kinda lackluster, I'll give 'em that.
Wrong Way's rotor can be removed. Otherwise, he's strictly ok.
Mr. Moto looks bad.
Jeeper Creeper's only flaw is a tire on his head. Solid GoBot that even has a gun.
Finally, Scales. It's a gimmick based toy. I think it's pretty cool, and that's a viscious snake head, get your mind out of the gutter.
So as you can see I don't agree with a majority of the list. Most GoBots aren't as good as Transformers in terms of complexity or "coolness", but many are very good in their own right. The line was full of imagination and diversity, with very few repaints. It's very much an apple and orange comparison.

Some of those really DID suck. But others weren't. Jeeper Creeper was actually pretty cool. I owned him.

Tux, class personified.
Edit:
This got me thinking, what if Tonka got their hands Takara's toy box ? Would he still be enduring 25+ years later if this was the Optimus we got in '84?

I always thought Psycho was awesome. I had him as a kid and really dug his alt mode and the bot mode wasn't half bad either (loved those nifty robo-prong-hands
).
I gotta grab me one off of ebay one of these days.

Did you know Psycho was based off of the car that apears in the anime' "Space Adventure Cobra"? I've never seen it, but it's a nifty bit of trivia.

Hmm...maybe if it was a piloted mech, because then the window faces make sense. Although this pic from an old 1984 Jcpenney catalog proves such a look is possible with the original G1 Prime:

Staks was cool. I had him as a kid also. I always thought that the 07 movie First Strike Optimus Prime was a homage to Staks.

I had Jeeper Creeper and Zero, and neither were bad for their size. 'Wrong Way' (was there ever a more appropriate name?) Renminds me of Skyhammer.

Said it before, say it again. I'd LOVE some Classics-style versions of Gobots, and not just recolorings of old molds either.

Well, I broke down and snagged a Psycho off of ebay. Got him for a pretty decent price and he came in box and everything. The figure itself looks mint, so much so that it looks like it just came fresh off of a store shelf, even the stickers are perfect and all of the joints/transformation bits are tight. No paint wear or anything.

Re: 20 Gobots That Remind Us Why the Gobots Sucked So Incredibly Hard
Personally, I think GoBots are given a hard time because they were generally cheaper and smaller than Transformers, had an awful cartoon and silly, puntastic names (unlike Transformers... Um... Hun-Grrr, Horri-Bull and Tentikill didn't happen then?).
However, as toys, if you compare the majority of small GoBots with the majority of small 80's Transformers, they generally had more varied and complex transformations and less cartoony alt modes. I know there were plenty of GoBots who had a simple "fold legs up like a Headmaster head" transformation, but it certainly wasn't all of them, not by a long way.
That's right, I'm speaking out in defence of GoBots, and I'm proud to do so

Re: 20 Gobots That Remind Us Why the Gobots Sucked So Incredibly Hard
I definitely like Transformers more, for a variety of reasons, and see why they were more popular at the time and have stayed so, BUT it'd be pretty easy to do a list of 20 Gobots That Did Stuff We All Wish Hasbro Did With Transformers.
A lot of that list would be alt modes. There were some really cool and some really goofy, but nice and unique alt modes for the Gobots. They also made a bit more of the female characters, and did characters in different sizes long before Hasbro made Primes and Bumblebees to suit every price point.

assembling a Neo-G1/TF:TM cast. Please PM if you have (or know of) the following at a reasonable price: Classics or Henkei Astrotrain, Sunstreaker, Sideswipe, or 3rd Party iGear Ratchet and Ironhide.
Also looking for Universe Repugnus and Overbite, Frostbite and Longhorn and any Webdiver toys.

I've watched some Machine Robo anime clips (Revenge of Chronos if you must know) and toy reviews, and to me they have certain simplistic charm to them. I definitely want to get the two Combiners some day, Puzzler and especially Monsterous. If only I could remember which name goes to who. I know the Sunstreaker wanna-be is Pocket, but that's it.

I've got Puzzler and Monsterous. Puzzler kinda sucks, honestly, but Monsterous is awesome, at least in my opinion (he kinda reminds me of the Beast Wars

If you need the names of the individual cars/bots for Puzzler, look no further than TFU

O, it's not the the names themselves that's the problem:
Pocket, Jigsaw, Tic Tac, Rube... *looks up* Crossword and Zig Zag for Puzzler, and South Claw, Weird Wing, Gore Jaw, Fangs... *looks up again* Fight Face and Heart Attack for Monsterous. It's who's who that's the problem. But knowing me, once I get the toys I'll instantly remember them

Wouldn't you know it, at C.O.N.S. a friend found 3 of the 6 Puzzler pieces: Crossword, Pocket and Rube. Neither of us bought them, and I would regret it later despite my "only complete combiners" policy.
My friend did snap up a good condition Super Gobot Warpath and he's impressive. I just expected Super Gobots to be a bit... bigger.

Re: 20 Gobots That Remind Us Why the Gobots Sucked So Incredibly Hard
I snagged a minty fresh Stacks from BBTS (warehouse find apparently) and he's just as awesome as I remember him being when I was a kid, but with the added bonus of now having his trailer (I had the version that came with no trailer when I was a kid). I just wish that trailer were big enough to accommodate the FP Stunticons. They're just a wee bit too wide to fit, but they pretty much scale with him. It would have been neat to have those sports cars on a car carrier like that.

Not a sheeple.
Think for yourself, don't let the magic TV box and social media do the thinking for you.
Question EVERYTHING!!
Just because you have a youtube review channel doesn't make you special.
I look forward to attending a Botcon soon only to settle matters with several idiots in person (yes this is a threat).

May I ask a side question, "Is there any GoBots that you would like to see somehow incorporated in a Transformers' continuity?" Is so how? (Hypothetical ideas: the "ancestor" TFs in G1, lost colony somewhere the galaxy, a MECH-style reverse engineering program, etc)"
