2014 Seibertron.com Year in Review - A Thrilling Transformers Tale

So do we consider the first wave Rid and first wave CW toys as late 2014 toys or early 2015 toys?
The only AOE toy I liked was Leader scale Grimlock. AOE FE Leader Optimus is my 2nd favorite. Didn't like the AOE toy line and thought it was the worse movie toy line of them all.
As far as the 2014 Generations new toys went, I thought most of them were home runs, Especially all of the Voyager class toys.
Takara MP-22 Ultra Magnus is my favorite 2014 MP TF toy. I'm going to count the Takara MP Ultra Magnus toy as a very late 2014 release toy. Think the toy was planned for 2014 and was delayed like most Takara MP TF's get delayed.

A quick list of my highlights of the year:
Generations Voyager Sandstorm for being the one that hooked me

Generations Deluxe Skids for jumping straight off of the pages of MTMTE

Generations Deluxe Arcee for having so much personality

Generations Legends Cosmos for being everything a Legends scale figure can and should be

IDW's Transformers Legacy: The Art of Transformers Packaging for being a walk down memory lane

James Roberts, Nick Roche, and Alex Milne for their work on MTMTE which is everything I've ever wanted in TF fiction.

Transformers Figure of the Year 2014 -
I'm going to go with my Legion Commander Class Ultra Magnus.
Favorite 2014 Transformers: Age of Extinction Figure -
I didn't buy any, but I sure was tempted by Evasion Mode Optimus Prime.
Favorite 2014 Transformers Generations (Thrilling 30) Figure -
Voyager Class Springer (which I shouldn't have even bought)
Favorite 2014 Transformers Build Figure -
None. My kids are playing with Legos now, though so 2015 might have an entry.
Favorite 2014 Transformers Exclusive Figure -
Silverstreak. I chose him due to choosing toy accuracy over comic-accuracy in his case in addition to "free" missle launchers at a great price.
Favorite 2014 Transformers Masterpiece Figure -
I want it to be Ultra Magnus, but I'm going by when I got the figure, and mine isn't due here til Wednesday Jan 7. So, he will be for 2015. In leiu of that, I have to go with MP-21 Bumble.
Favorite 2014 Transformers Comic -
I know it is against all reason
Favorite 2014 Transformers TV/Film -
I guess Age of Extinction wasn't terrible. It gave me some hope for the live-action franchise.
Favorite 2014 Transformers Game -
The only one I play is Transformers Legends.
Favorite 2014 Transformers Moment -
Confirmation that my MP-22 Ultra Magnus was getting shipped followed by any time I get a new Masterpiece figure.
What you're looking forward to in 2015 for Transformers -
More Masterpiece reveals. The Robots in Disguise show.

I was always a bigger defender of xRID over MTMTE, as it was the one that got me into the comics as much as I now in the first place - that, and Death of Optimus Prime, which I still see as proto-RID. I actually still surprise myself thinking that it's only/already been three years (more or less) since the new IDWverse has taken hold. Jmbeezus.

I now realize I didn't use this as my favorite media entry, but should have. Such a glorious book, and it absolutely must be experienced in print! The quality and resolution of the art is shockingly good.

I'm sure your auditory greatness will continue through 2015 and beyond. The format and tone of the show are just perfect. Having a beer, transforming a robot, and listening to a new episode always makes for good times.

It's incredible. Jim Sorenson and Bill Forster put a lot of thought into the book and it shows throughout. It's pure eye candy.

Just a few movie generations and legends figs which most of the collectors already had bought in previous waves.
Though Evasion Mode Optimus was a good thing and my fav figure of this year as well then.
Also saw some Kre-O and Constructbots, but nothing special.
So yea.. kinda sucks living in the Netherlands being a TF fan..

Man! I got issues. I was going to do a 10 best of 2014, but than I started getting everybody off the shelves. They just kept coming, and coming, and coming. So I did ALL of 2014.
It's been a good year full wonderful things. I too realized I had no collecting friends, so I too started downloading Twincasts. Then it dawned on me. Here are a bunch of folks who like to make robo talk. I've been referencing seibertron.com for years, so I finally wandered into the Energon Pub, and sidled up to the bar.
Thanks every buddy for welcoming me here. It's been a real treat to make new friends who like the things I like. I'm having a BLAST cuttin' it up, scrappin', and laughin' with y'all.
To a great new year, and a ton of robots for everyone.
CHEERS!

I totally understand him, it was a great year.
I bought over 200 TFs this year as it was the first year of collecting "seriously" and I wouldnt be able to say which ones I like best of the ones I bought. I guess that's why I love making lists so much all over the site, it's a way of compensating for all the years I missed picking these great toys up. And now that I have them, I just want to talk about them. So thanks Cobotron and the gang for letting me talk to my heart's content.
Oh and while I have you all here (with a quote of a fellow canadian above), I thought I would share the Canadian highlights of this year.
While we usually get stuff late and sometimes never get anything due to language issues, some pretty awesome stuff happened this year:
Shajaki found some of the exclusive platinum sets earlier at his TRU than any other location in North America.
Speaking of platinum sets, Walmart picked up Platinum Predaking for canadian retail and was willing to ship it to Quebec even though there was no french on the box. Still not over that (and plus it was at Walmart, so cheap!).
We also had Constructbot sets that nobody else had such as Unicron Megatron and Bulkhead from Prime. And plus they were half off at Winners, a local discount clothes chain.
And, my favourite part, we had the last wave of Beast Hunters Commander Class figures which were some of the best of the bunch: BH Ultra Magnus, which came with his own small hammer, Bludgeon with a skull for a chest (freaken Blugeon!), and Unicron Megatron which was the only transforming figure ever released of that "character".
Looking back, I guess Prime Megatron might have had a thing for Canada once Unicron took over him

The Unicron Megatron alt mode could be made into a maple leaf. Maybe
Also, fun picture Cobotron. I shudder to think what it'd look like if I put everything I bought last year into one picture. Movie year + being a completionist = massive mess.

The transformation was fun, the colors were bright, and the light piping was perfect. That single figure had me researching everything I had missed in the past decades which brought me 'round to the Seibertron galleries which have been a tremendous help in planning purchases. Jobs. Great source of money.
I know when I got my first job mid-2014, my Transformer-purchasing skyrocketed. Pretty sure I bought more Transformers in the past seven months than I have in the past two/three years combined.

Well its easy to buy a lot when you have only a handful of beast wars to begin with. I started last april, and it grew through finding lots in local online adds and trades and the like. This thread shows my collection but not all (still missing all of animated, movie figures and classics). If you follow the toy haul thread you can follow my posts. My collection has died down a bit since I got many of the toys I was seeking and now I pretty much wait for retail releases.
