As for Wizard Of The Coast, Dungeon & Dragon and Magic The Gathering became so woke that they are now parodies that would make the Babylon Bee jealous. If they want people to buy their stuff again, especially the old fans who are passing the torch to their kids and even grandkids, let's hope they will clean out the rot that is sabotaging them from the inside.
I believe that Hasbro/WotC have invested or created a new game studio called Archetype Studios and their first game is a sci-fi action RPG game called Exodus. They seem to be pushing it as the "next Mass Effect". The only problem is that they're saying time relveality meaning every when the character goes faster than light the people, (like the original Planet of the Apes, Lightyear, and Interstellar) they leave behind on the worlds that they're leaving will age and even die and this what creates all the aliens you meet are just now super evolved humans that don't like regular humans. Neat ideas sure but I haven't been impressed by much of it, and the trailers I haven't impressed me much.
The time progression this gives me Fable vibes and not in a good a way, now I generally liked the Fable trilogy but the time progression for other characters than the player character was extremely limiting and never made any sense then again the Fable trilogy did have a weird British sense of humor about it.
They're probably already looking for another studio to make Baldur's Gate IV since Larian said they were done with them, and BioWare the studio that made the first two BG games is on extremely thin ice with their own parent company EA (and EA sucks in general just like Activision-Blizzard does now).

Only the lead writer. Most of the OG ME are still at BioWare making Mass Effect 5. Except for Casey Hudson he was trying to start is own studio but he had to shut it down due running out of money.

Regardless, I'm not holding my breath for ANY games that are about to come out. The overlong development cycles often make games that are irrelevant and pointless when the time to come out arrive. Also, most Western big studios are infested with D.E.I hires, bloat, and talentless, ideological driven people who just want to push an agenda instead of making a great game. The occasional Western independent can make a gem with pure passion, but they have to be noticed.
Now that only leaves China and Korea to make great games with zero agenda and pure gameplay. And maybe Japan if they can fight against Western influence.
The caveat is that at least, the big AAA Western studios have their rot being purged by pure economics in this Video Game Crash 2.0. Let's see what the future of Western games studio will give us....
Still, I wonder how Hasbro will fare as a "newcomer". Let's hope they read the writing on the wall and they will hire the right people to make games, not ideological parasites.

Our earlier editorial created quite a stir in the Transformers community because even though it was just sharing previously known facts, Transformers fans were not in the know of Hasbro's shift in focus. As Chris Cocks says, Hasbro is now a Game and Toy company, not a Toy and Game company. And while it was assumed this was about things to come, it turns out Hasbro already revealed their first game to be released. And interestingly, it not about Transformers or other brands of theirs, it is a fully new IP. This is old news (from 2023), but from the response to our previous article, it seems fans were unaware of Hasbro branching out to this level.
That's right, while fans were quick to talk about Transformers Reactivate as proof that Hasbro's decision on going all in on video games was a bad strategy, little did they know that it was not a Hasbro game, and that Hasbro was already making something of their own. Transformers Reactivate is a terrible example of what Hasbro intends on doing with video games. Instead, here's a better example: Exodus, their actual game.
Exodus is made by Hasbro's in house studio, Archetype, which is a subsidiary of Wizards of the Coast. And Exodus is a fully new IP. It is a third person shooter RPG, more along the lines of Mass Effect. This is what you can turn to, to see what Hasbro is capable of making when it comes to videos games. You can check out gameplay along with interviews with the heads of Archetype to see what Hasbro's gaming division is all about.
As stated in our previous editorial, their games, including Exodus, are set for release in either end 2025, or early 2026. And Hasbro is ramping up development on more, with half of all their R&D budget going to video games now rather than their physical toy divisions. While Chris Cocks stated that he sees digital play being the next stage of Hasbro's brands, we still have no news of a Transformers game from Hasbro themselves, but we will keep you up to date on any development. However, Exodus does give us an idea of what Hasbro can do for their brands. And a Sci Fi RPG shooter is the perfect kind of game for the Transformers brand.
So yes, it's not just plans; Hasbro is a full on video game developer now, through their Archetype Studio, and their first game is Exodus. We will see if they are successful in this new space.

Corporate think will ruin Hasbro. A guy from a company that didn’t produce toys and did produce video games is now saying, “we don’t need toys, we need video games.” They’re gonna tank the toy company chasing something that they’ll never get, which is a foothold in the video game market. Instead of focusing on what they’re good at and reinventing that, they’re gonna kill the company, the CEO will get his bonus and move on to sell real estate.

Pretty sure that it's being led by Bioware veteran James Ohlen, who amoung other games was the lead designer on the Baldur's Gate duology, KotOR, and maybe Dragon Age Origins. He also headed up The Old Republic. And Drew Karpyshyn is writting.
