So the third party market has gone completely MP-crazy recently. It seems every company and their dog is doing Masterpiece scale these days. Whilst I can't say I blame them, I for one wish they'd do some stuff that HasTak is realistically not very likely at all to do- with the rumours of an official MP Inferno, unless the official product really sucks I'm probably not buying the MakeToys or MMC version (not that I can afford an MP collection at the moment anyway, but I digress). There is, however, plenty of stuff that Takara isn't terribly likely to do any time soon, and I'd love to see some 3P companies fill those gaps.

So what would YOU like to see your favourite purveyor of unofficial Masterpiece figures make?

Here's 5 I could think of off the top of my head, in no particular order.

5: G2 Megatron/Archforce.
MP G2 Sideswipe is actually my only MP and I absolutely adore him. In fact, if I had to sell all but 1 of my Transformers and only collect from the scale of the one I kept, it'd be him. G2 (and G1.5) gave us some awesome figures, and it only seems fair that the badassitude that is G2 Megatron (and his European redeco, Archforce) got the MP treatment. For one, he's an awesomely simple and simply awesome design. For another, it'd be a proper MP Megatron, AND it'd avoid the whole gun fiasco. And most importantly, it'd be another G2 inspired Masterpiece.

(Yeah, you can expect a lot of G2/G1.5 stuff on this list...)

4: G1.5 Clench.
I have a real soft spot for Decepticon leader-type characters, and Clench has a particularly fantastic design. From his deliciously neon colour scheme to his badass headsculpt and gorgeous truck mode, he'd make a fantastic MP. Sure, he'd need a bit of proportion tweaking to not look ludicrous, but that should be simple enough. Plus, it's another Decepticon MP, which we don't have nearly enough of. Really all the G1.5 designs (like Skyqyake, Thunderclash, Pyro, Stalker and so on) could do with the MP treatment but Clench stands out in particular.

3: RID Side Burn/Speedbreaker.
Side Burn was my first ever Transformers toy and I love him. He's practically a mini-Masterpiece in his own right with his superb articulation, wonderful alt mode and gorgeous paint job. Still, an MP-scaled version of him would be awesome. Aside from the obvious (upscaling him) all they'd really need to do is add more paint, overhaul the joints and add MP-style hands. The other Car Brothers would be good too, but if we only got one I'd take Side Burn.

2: G2 Laser Optimus Prime/RID Scourge/Black Convoy/Toxitron.
Obviously you couldn't have an MP G2 Megatron without a Laser Prime to accompany him could you? He's one of the best Prime designs ever (in my opinion) and his original toy holds up well to this day. In my humble opinion he's well deserving of an MP, which makes it a shame he's unlikely to get an official one. On top of that, he'd have a fair bit of redeco potential- Scourge is an obvious use, but in addition to that there's Toxitron, Laser Ultra Magnus, and, umm...Year of the Goat Optimus Prime? Regardless, he'd make for a truly spectacular MP figure, and a great centrepiece to any collection. I'd buy him over MP-10 to be honest.

1: RID Megatron/Gigatron.
RID Megatron may be my absolute favourite toy ever. He's ultra-articulated, he looks gorgeous, he's solid and he has TEN MODES. The biggest question, really, is what you'd actually improve upon in a Masterpiece figure. Personally I can think of a few things I'd do if I were making him. For one I'd put his head on a barbell-balljoint, and also make the rotation and extension mechanisms of the forearms independent for more posing options. I'd also add an extra joint to his wing assembly allowing it to face the "right way round" in Dragon mode. Most importantly, however, I'd ditch the "grabbing" mechanism in his stomach and replace it with a pair of REALLY hefty balljoints (or alternaively universal joints, I dunno) in his chest and waist. This would allow him to keep the ability to "grab" in hand mode, whilst also giving him ludicrous poseability. Other than that, all that you'd really need to do is take the basic engineering scheme and adapt it a little to accommodate the articulation improvements. On top of that, you could always redeco him as Galvatron or Transmetal 3 BW Megatron.

The Dinobots, Hound, Inferno, Sunstreaker, you know, all the ones no one ever thought to do. So sick of all these Jazz, Cliffjumper, Trailbreaker/Hoist, Kup/Orion Pax, and Arcee variants. And if I see one more Skids I'm going to scream.
