A few helpful tips to improve certain figures...

Hey guys, just thought I'd share a few things to improve some figures that might be annoying to some.

G2 Dreadwing (blue bomber/tank mold):

I hated having a hard time standing this guy up, but if you DONT click the thighs into the body, but leave them loose, they improve the outward angle at which the leg can turn, allowing more stability in some poses, and definitely more style.

Classics Tankor (Octane):

If your getting annoyed about where to store the large melee claw weapon, you can place one of the guns onto either wing (with the wings folded upwards with propellors facing forward), and at the right angle of placement (which way the gun points), you can attach the opened up claw weapon into the gun's peg hole to store the claw weapon on robot mode. It stands without touching the ground behind him, and adds to the overall tallness of the figure.

Botcon Landshark (armoured tow truck mold):

Is that annoying tow arm getting in the way in robot mode? remove it from the rest of the assembly (intentionally designed to remove) and squeeze it between the back of the bot and the backpack with the hook facing up. The 2 pegs on either side of this tower-like appendage can allow for gun placement over his head.

Feel free to add more if you guys know little tips like these.

Weapon: No Weapon
Interesting tips. Here's one I've been waiting for a chance to put forth.

Classics/Universe 2.0 deluxe Hound

I mentioned once before that I've seen a lot of people mistransform this guy, but I guess it's more of a missed step.
Image
Normally when I see pics of this guy he tends to either look like a hunchback or is constantly in a state of pelvic thrust or both.
Image
The problem is his spine. Normally to have a strait spine his chest has to be at a downward angle, which gives him some stunted looking shoulders and prevents his weapon from pointing strait forward when clipped on his shoulder(IF you can get it clipped on). The solution to this problem is simple!
Image
Tilt the windscreen section up into his back. This grants more clearance to push his lower spine section against.
Image
And voila! Now his back is strait(er) and his shoulder weapon can point forward!
Image
I hope this helps educate people on how to get Hound standing strait, because it's been a pet peeve of mine for the longest time.

The plate that Cybertron Soundwave/Blaster/Soundblaster's head sits on is supposed to and can align to be flush with the larger shoulder plate.

This entirely prevents his head from looking all Mecha-Neck like and improves the bot mode by leaps.

It surprises me how many people miss this one. I remember the first time I transformed him it was really difficult to get the plate to go down into recessed opening, but I knew it had to go otherwise his bot mode was going to look rather goofy.

If you have old Rewind and Eject guns not in use they fit nicely in the shoulder pegs of Universe 2.0 (Classics) Sideswipe and Sunstreaker.

I gave G1 Galvatron's gun to Universe 2.0 Bluestreak since he showed some sniper skills in the cartoon. His other hand can be placed on the protrusion below the barrel to look like he's holding the rifle with two hands. He also looks good with G1 Perceptor's rifle, though you might want to save that one for RTS Perceptor if you plan to pick him up. Bluestreak (and the other versions of the mold) can store his foldout rifle in his back by placing the handle into the hole at the small of his back and adjusting the roof of the car to hold it in place. The rocket launchers can also be used to secure the rifle in their concealed form.

Classics Hot Rod holds my G1 Sludge's rifle.

Classics Optimus Prime can hold Powermaster Optimus Prime's rifles. They look really good, especially with the door kibble (arm shields) rotated so they rise above the arms and act as protection for the rifles along his forearms (for the single barrel rifles). I like to attach his twin barreled rifle upside down to his backpack (untransformed ion cannon) for storage. It also makes a nice jet pack. Prime can also hold both Powermaster rifles in the same fist (also works best with single barrel rifles).

Hope thats adequate.

Thanks for contributing guys, that Hound one is pretty interesting, altho I don't put his gun on his shoulder, I actually place it into the cavity in his back (jimmy it till its pretty stuck in there) so that it sorta points up behind his head. not G1 accurate, but it makes sense in the realm of 'I'd like to see both sides of my head in battle' deal, hehe.

Use the commander head for PCC Leadfoot and attach the mini-con to his chest, gan barrels over his shoulders and you've got classics Slapdash. Sort of.

Glad to help, I never liked Tankor, but i've warmed up to him.

Fansproject + ROTF Bruticus:

If you decide to move bruticus's thighs so that the missile holes on the knee part face sideways rather than front (or behind :S), you can store the shotguns in the peg hole on each thigh so that they point backwards sort of like its being holstered.
Image
This improves the shoulder movement due to how much the helicopter and shuttle canopies extend upwards (and inwards towards the body when the arms tilt outwards).

Movie Blackout:
You can place the peg on his shoulders in robot mode into the screw hole in one side of the rotor attachment.
Image
This allows the blades to hinge in front of the body, as well as position scorponok in a better place, 'coz when you hit the release button, he actually falls out and lands on the right side (or bounces onto the right side due to the spring loaded tail)

With G1 Swoop, if you don't transform it, it won't end up being a broken pile of plastic and metal in your lap, covered in your manly man-tears.

Haha. I hope we one day get some decent dinobots like Masterpiece grimlock. Voyager Sludge and Snarl,
Deluxe Slag and Swoop. That'd be sweet.

WFC Optimus Prime's kneepads flip up, which many people don't realize. However, I think he looks better with them flipped down in robot mode, so instead, when he's in truck mode, THEN you flip them around, and suddenly, he's got tail lights.

Warbot Defender (Springer):

You can unclip the little black circular clip on the bottom of the rotor blades' peg to remove the entire peg from the sword, and clip it back on to the figure to store the peg away, and leave the sword clean of akward parts being attached.

Skids or Crosscut's clip-on weapons sit reasonably well on Encore Ratchet or Ironhide's arms. Closest we'll get to Ironhide's pop up drill.

The custom heads on Ebay really do improve Ratchet and Ironhide.

I think they're designed to be up in truck mode and down in bot mode. When flipped up in truck mode, there is a groove across these pieces that matches up with a groove on the blue leg piece.

And Yea I didn't care about checking, I figured eventually someone would advise if this sorta thread was already made. If they can be merged... sure. Works for me.
