Hi, everybody.
My brother wants to start collecting transformers. Please tell us which collection to start with. What year should I start collecting it?

Start now with the toys available, it's much easier and less costly. Go to Walmart and check out the Netflix Transformers toys in the toy aisle along with the Studio Series toys. Depending on what he likes (characters, designs) the toys to get would be within those two lines.

Where are you located? There are no stores devoted to toys left in the United States, only Walmart and Target ( and a few regional stores). Most specialty stores are currently closed

Those stores will have the same stuff found in the toy aisle of Target and Walmart.

Those stores will have the same stuff found in the toy aisle of Target and Walmart.

Not to knock down specialty stores one would find in malls, but I'd give those an initial pass for current figures, because they have a markup (i.e. they cost slightly more) due to higher overhead and rent, at least in the U.S., and are also sliiiiightly behind. Don't know about Australia (I'm guessing from your signature).

Could you tell us a little bit more about your brother? Like what are his interests, what is he looking for in figures? Above all, has he seen the movies?
