I assume he just stripped the paint from the door & roof panels, since they appear to be clear to begin with (just painted over)! The smoke-gray panels really look nice!

That custom looks sweet! I really like the detail from the blue, red, & gold paints on the underside of the panels showing through of the roof! -And then in car-mode, seeing all the interior bits! Sweet idea!

At first I thought " I hope he's done, because he better not paint those panels"
Wicked job, love how he even has his own case.

Howdy,
The clear panels are swindles I just carfully stripped the paint off of them and they are smoked clear underneath, I was safe with the roof and door panels but the back glass is a diffrent plastic and will crazed very easy so I left them and just painted them.
thanks everybody for posting :D
it helps me want to do more when y'all like what I am doing and I hear it...

is that so? i never owned (nor planned to buy) a Swindle as the aesthetic is not for me so i don't know about this. but now that you mentioned this, i assume that it's going to be an easy job with extra-strength alcohol or acetone to strip away the paint. thanks!

Swindle is one awesome figure looks great in both modes as well he has articulation like an alternator and I like the one eyed bot look :P

DO NOT EVER USE acetone AKA the plastic killer, when I need something stronger than alcohol I will use NON acetone nail polish remover which is what I used on swindles doors and roof...

oh? i used small amounts of acetone in removing some marking details on some of my TFs, but only in small amounts - do they melt the plastic somewhat?

YES  acetone very bad for for plastic it will melt and or make plastics brittle...
acetone not made for plastics more of a metal cleaner.

d'oh! good thing i used a small amount only and put it on a cotton earbud. but for removing ballpen marks not even alcohol comes close to this.

If you cannot get or find non acetone nail polish remover and acetone is what you got I would thin it a bit with water it does not need to be at full power to work.
I use windex for most marks on my bots
but do not go over a decal with it D'Ooh
