So a funny thing happened, I would like to convey
While I was out shopping for gifts the other day!
My brother and I were bundled up for the cold
And out to the shops we casually strolled.

I had with me a list of gifts to purchase
And I strictly would stick to it... more-or-less
For you see when faced with old toys I'm easy to impress!
I can't help but spend and hoard... but I digress.

Sentinel The Protector from a toy line called Robo Force
It's an interesting toy line, but a bit obscure of course.
He's got a suction-cup foot and his arms are all bendy
He was dirt-cheap too so buying more won't be so spendy!

It's a quaint little toy but missing some parts
So I'll surely scour online shops and fill shopping carts.
Because I doubt I'll find anything in the local marts.
Oh god, I can't think of a rhyme! BRAIN FARTS!

While these toys are old, they are once again new
Thanks to John Kent from whom I've bought a few.
I'll throw more money at him when he makes more toys
I'm going to go eat now. Bye!

You know, there's a problem that toy collectors have that is very damning to our budgets. A form of Accute Walletary Dystrophy is brought on by a condition we all have that I have dubbed Recursive Acquisitional Disorder, or RAD. The symptoms aren't immediately obvious to the outside observer, but it's easily recognizable by other collectors once they have taken a look at their collection. Many, MANY of their action figures will seemingly be the exact same toy. Sometimes the collector will proudly display their symptoms with one entire shelf dedicated to Storm Troopers, or Optimus Primes, Or every version of Snake Eyes, or a myriad of Bat Men in various states of dress. I am not immune to this, I suffer as well, and this time I'm suffering with the Boa Constrictor Gorgon!

So a group of people broke away from the Hasbro mega corporation to create their own small company called Bossfight Studios. Their very first project was a toy line based off of various Mediterranean legends such as the legends of Medusa, Achilles, or Leonidas from 300 (based off of both the legend and the movie). They have, however, added their own touches, such as an entire race of Gorgons, rather than three of them (Medusa, Euryale, and Stheno). The Boa Constrictor Gorgon being one of the most dangerous, and also being the only one that I bought two of because I'm an idiot.

Actually, there is a reason I got two. You see, when they come fresh from the production line, the Boa Constrictor Gorgon is the same length as the other Gorgons. So I bought two, since this thing is a boa constrictor, I decided to take them apart so that I may embiggen one of them, thus making a longer snake lady. I didn't say it was a good reason.

Anyway, since combining the two sneks, I also managed to give her two swords, two daggers, two whips, and two helmets! I mean, she can't wear the helmets, but she has two now since the other snake is just a torso sitting in it's box, at least until I buy a set of legs for it, which by the way is a handy thing that Bossfight Studios does. They sell "blanks" of human bodies, so I can go and buy a pair of legs that match with the colour of the torso if I wanted, which I do.

My favorite thing about these toys is that they're small, relatively affordable, very poseable, and nicely detailed! A lot of work goes into making them. They're not just display pieces, they're good toys as well, and are fun to mess around with.

I'm going to buy a bunch of warrior skeletons and spartans off of them next so I can recreate Jason and The Argonauts.

A sudden gust of wind snuffs out the torch you carry, plunging you and your companions into total darkness. You quickly, and blindly, scramble for your flint and steel before your Elven companion speaks "Shh! Do you hear that?" You pause, and hear nothing at first. You have to strain your senses to the very limit before you make it out. A slow, stealthy dragging sound. Heavy, and close. "Sod it!" the sorcerer exclaims before casting light into the room from the pearl he clutches in his hand. Then you see the figure in front of you.

"Dammit!"

Her rattle buzzes angrily and as she turns your friends quickly avert their gaze, but you, bold and brave, you foolishly look at the danger head-on. You prepare to cleave the beast in two, but as she glares at you, your limbs grow heavy, and numb.

"He's done for, leave him!"

You hear your companions flee back down the tunnels, but you can't follow. As the sorcerers' light quickly diminishes into the distance, you're left with the horrible image of the gorgon as the last sight you'll ever see.

Wow, these green translucent guys don't photograph well.

Anyway, these are called Glyos toys! They're buildable modular action figures! The guy on the left of the first picture there is made out of one figure (Named Pheyden) with extra add-on kits that bulk out his arms and legs and make them articulated! Otherwise he normally has skinnier unposeable arms and legs. The dude on the left I just put together out of left over parts that I didn't bother adding to Pheyden! I think that's one of my favorite things about this style of toy. I can make something out of spare parts. A lot like LEGO in a way!

The only part out of the one figure and four add-on kits that I used here which has no where to go is that little arm piece that the two dudes in the last pic are fighting over like it's the last turkey leg on Earth.
