The angled view picture totally throws me off though. It looks like some generic prime head, but not enough so, and chances are that its probably just some other obscure character where only a random dude who actually likes this character will have to chime in and point it out. It simply looks nothing like what any of you guys have suggested. Not to me anyway.

OMG...Thank You for digging this picture up! I was having the same issue you were with that one view reminding me of something else and it was just bugging the hell out of me. For a while I was thinking the illicit substances from my youth were coming back to play havoc with my brain. (that may yet be the case so let's not rule it out)
I still, however, maintain that everybody is reading entirely too much into the picture and that there is nothing in it to indicate that we are getting a reuse of this mold. But if I do have to side with anyone on what it gets recycled into, I'm in Amelie's camp. The micromasters of old just aren't getting enough love these days. :P

I want to throw in my continuing support of a Motormaster, simply for the fact that we really have never had a Motormaster who could stand head-to-head with Prime in either robot or alternate mode. ESPECIALLY not alternate mode. G2 Prime retooled as Motormaster would make a decent adversary to Classics Prime. The FP Menasor trailer is a stroke of genius.

...aside from the fact that, should this happen, G2 Prime/Motormaster would not quite match up with Classics Prime, as Classics Prime is a Voyager, and G2 Prime is a Deluxe and thus likely shorter. Yet another case of "it should have been a Voyager" syndrome in the current toy lines.

When I saw the alternate head, I immediately thought of Beast Wars Silverbolt. That just makes no sense at all as a re-paint, but that's what I saw.

The overall shape of the head from the side angle still seems too Optimus Prime-ish to be able to say Motormaster or Zeta Prime. I still think it's going to be a character related to Optimus Prime in some way (Optimus Primal?, Nemesis Prime, Ultra Magnus, etc.)
Please note: If you think I may be joking, I probably am.

going with ultra magnus, becuase we need one that's not a white optimus re-paint. that being said if i'm right please let hasbro paint him in g1 colors and not in white. head looks right for magnus, and doesn't really look like motormaster at all.

Though nobody has mentioned it, I wouldn't be suprised if this turned out to be Thunderclash.

Thunderclash previously got a limited repaint based on Energon Rodimus, so it could fit in that regard as well.

Call me a cynic (and I would be as dissapointed as everyone), but I'm still not convinced all these instruction sheet versions will come to pass :-(

i know what you mean, but we had to wait ages for lockdown's alternate head, so maybe we will be seeing these alternates somewhere along the line, but just not yet. after all hasbro have to keep something for when the movie lines are finished.

Given that we're four months from DotM toys appearing on shelves, I'm betting a lot of these are being set up for the next Classics line post-movie.

I actually wouldn't mind seeing these figures held until then as I would have an easier time viewing the molds with a different head as new and fresh.

Generations Dirge and movie Dirge were on shelves at the same time though, so while strange, don't rule it out completely.

Looking over the instructions... it really just looks like an oddly-drawn Prime head.

But they weren't released at the same time, and they weren't in the same toyline. Movie Dirge and Generations Dirge being on the shelves together is just a case of ROTF pegwarming. (Plus, don't confuse Jetblade for movie Dirge or movie Dirge for a HFTD figure)
If "Scourge" is released, he will probably go under the Nemesis Prime name due to the Scourge name being used in the same toyline. But what if he's released in Generations? you might ask. Well technically being released in Generations would still be the same toyline as a whole, because Generations and Reveal the Shield/HFTD are sub-lines. The only exceptions of the same names occurring within the toyline have been War for Cybertron characters because they weren't prominent enough to field their own sub-line, yet they were demanded enough due to their connected media.
Please note: If you think I may be joking, I probably am.

ummm If he was released in generations then that would be the same line as the regular scourge. The only way they could release RiD Scourge as scoruge is to release him in RtS i would think. Maybe the handful of fans will finally get toxitron...lol

i dunno. the head looks organic and almost feline to me. if i ignore the body, it makes me think of names like Razorclaw or Tigertron/Tigerhawk. Don't ask me why. On a related note, I just picked up this Prime today and goddamn... He's tiny! We're talking classics Rodimus tiny!
