Alternator Ice: A project I did for a friend...

Postby MetalSamamon » Wed Jul 26, 2006 4:19 pm

Hi!

Well, I'm moving in just a few days here; and my friend wanted me to do a custom figure for him before I left.

It's a repaint of Autobot Skids; done to match his personal Scion xB (he has the actual car too). :D

Here's the toy!

*Note: Yes, he wanted the "dust" effect; that's supposed to look like that on the head and body.

And in car mode...

And here's the car it's based off of:

I'd like to have a gallery made of this if possible; since this is my first Alternator repaint and my first "official" custom (excluding the Transtopians project).

Thanks, and feel free to leave comments!

:D

That's fantastic! Very nice touch with the "frost" paint job! Airbrushed?

Actually; it was spray-painted.

I used white spray paint; and just stood further away from the pieces than usual. And carefully; I made the pieces look like that!

Thanks for the comments!

Now I'm even more impressed that you managed that kind of control and spray from a can! Props to you my friend!!!

Great work MS. You bringing it to Botcon? It'd be a good entry.

Unfortunatly, no.

I don't even have the figure anymore.

I bought it for a friend for his birthday; and I painted it up for him as a kind-of farewell present (since I'm moving in a few days here).

It's his figure; he'll be displaying it at the car shows he attends however (where he shows off the toy's larger counterpart; the actual Scion xB it's based off of).

So, yeah; it's just something I did for him. I got nothing out of it; other than the pics and the satisfaction. :P

You're doing repaints now?

You should come by sometime - I have some projects that need to be finished..

Well, I never really had the proper materials or right pieces to repaint; so I never really did it before.

However; now that I finally do have a pretty good selection of spray paints; I'm going to be doing it more often.

I am planning on going to next year's SDCC (if I can afford it); so maybe I'll see you then (I might paint your figures....might....we'll see... :P ).
