Alternators Cybertronian Police Motorcyle Patrol

Postby Superquad7 » Tue Aug 15, 2006 2:12 am

Hey guys, i just finished up a project this weekend. I have taken 3 RiD Laser Cycle Axers and made them into part of my Cybertronian Police. I'm getting ready to start grad school back for the year, so I don't see myself having the time to make a gallery for a little while. Along the same vein, I'd like to thank Redline for his nice work on editing one of my photos in PS (which gives me even more of a good reason to make a full gallery soon!).

As most of you guys know, I'm mainly into Alt customs and these bots are now integrated into the rest of my work. These guys are about a 1:20 scale (they're not hardly big enough to scale with the G.I. Joes, but they're a bit bigger than that Alts/Bts which are of course 1:24). I have my 20th Prime and MP-2 displayed with my Alts/Bts (about 1/28th scale), so as long as the scale is + or - just a small portion, I'm fine.

I was also going to wait to post my work until I named each of these three bots, but I decided that it would be fun to go ahead and share my work (and if any of you have any suggestions for names [without references to CHiPs), I'll be glad to honor any suggestions and credit any of you who come up with names.

Anyways, I present to you my Alt Cybertronian Police Motorcycle Patrol

erh, it's the R.I.D. Axer mold, and speaking from europe, you won't find it easily here.
A wonderful remodl/repaint though.

Nightstick
Cuffs
Blotter
Siren
Rookie
Magnum

Of course Nightbeat, Groove, etc could work, too, if you haven't used them for other customs already. :)

Nice use of the Roadpig mold, can't even tell they're customs!

Hey guys, thank you all for for your kind words with my project! I really appreciate all of your suggestions and feedback!

As for the names, those are some good suggestions. Right now, I'm considering Speed Trap and Chase for 2 of them, and the third I have yet to name (Roadblock and Streetstar I'm pondering I have to say). I want to stay away from "Road Pig" because I am trying to stay away totally from any negative connotations for police officers. Call me oldskool, but part of my Cybertronian Police project is to recapture some of the positive and heroic feelings I've always had concerning police officers and what they do. Magnum sounds cool too. Escort and Bullet are considerations as well.

Thanks again for your comments on my work! Much appreciated!

Lobo, thanks a lot man; I really appreciate it!

I have about 10 coats on each part, but each coat is sanded down. In terms of painting my hand, white is a pain, especially on a black base . . .

Definately nice paint apps. The only thing I don?t like is that they are all identical, with no way to tell them apart. There?s nothing to differentiate them from each other except a number.

Thanks for your feedback on my work!

I set out to make these guys completely indentical except for their numbers. I wanted them to be uniform in that regard, but to be able to have their own identies (which is why I am naming them individually). I just wanted a change of pace. :)

Speaking of individuality, it seems that "Roadblock" has came up in several suggestions.

So I've named these guys Speedtrap, Chase, and Roadblock. :)

They can be uniform without being identical. They should, at least, have different heads, IMO. Without something more to individualize them distinctly, they look like nothing more than drones, and I don?t think that is what you?re looking for.

It's a great idea! It reminds me of the clones near the end of G1

Believe it or not, but this was my intention. We hardly think of the Autobots having "drones," but my intent was more of the line of "identical twins." I may revisit the project down the road, but doubt I'll add more than a different color of stripe on an arm or something to further differentiate them. I'm quite fond of the head sculpt for this mold which I think suits the custom quite well. At least for now, it's time to move on.

If it says anything, one of the customs that's WIP right now is not a new project, but a much older piece who is getting a "hot" new deco to help him on his "pursuits." Heh heh. 8)

Interesting looking indeed! These guys would look sweet with A Prowl or Redalert custom.

Well, I'm making two more police customs. I am making a police Meister (yet to be named, but will sport the Japanese police deco like Bt Prowl and Bt* Alert) and a Mustang police car in the Cybertronian Police deco (like my Hot Pursuit and Stakeout) named "Interceptor." Once I finish those, I'm pretty sure I'll have the police squad complete. When that happens, I'm fairly certain they'll all huddle up for a big group photo!

Did someone attempt to post on this thread today? I got a notice in my e-mail about it, but the link to the new user's post was gone. Ok....

Anyways, thanks for responding! (even though I didn't get to read and respond back)

I wouldn't doubt that.

Well on topic (lol), I'm not sure I mentioned this here or not, but I am redoing the police deco on my US based police cars. These cycles fall into that as well. They'll still have the "protect and serve" on the saddlebags as well as "POLICE" on the windshield, but they'll sport a different "department" deco as well as new unit numbers.

I've had a lot going on here lately, and it's nothing short of a miracle that I've done the things I have lately. Anyways, I definately keep updates on my work coming in as I get to em!
